#SlowFadeOfFaith
“``Now, Demas didn't wake up one day and just stop loving Christ. Demas didn't wake up one day and find himself in Thessalonica. It was a slow fade. It was a process that happened over time. It was a drift that started long before the departure, and nobody deserts Jesus overnight. It's a slow drift of the heart. It's a flame that slowly fades, and it's a heat that slowly cools, and it's a love that slowly changes directions from an affection for Jesus Christ and the things that he loves to a slow fade, affection for the things that the Lord hates. The love of this world. It fades slowly over time. It's one decision, one small compromise, one cut corner until one day you're gone.”

#RestorationPossible
“``But Paul now, here at the end of his life, he's asking for him by name. Isn't that great? The deserter becomes useful once again. And scholars believe that it was because of the the work of Barnabas continuing to pour into Mark's life that restoration was made possible. The scriptures don't necessarily indicate that. But we see that Mark started off bad but ended good. Demas started off strong and ended bad. But I want to tell you that Mark is an example that failure isn't final, that your worst moment doesn't decide what the ending looks like.”

#ChangeDirectionNow
“``This isn't a message about, okay, love Jesus harder, do more work, try harder. It's a moment where you can look at your life, where we can look at our life, and we can see if there's something that's out of order, if there's wrong priorities, and and we can respond in in running to Jesus saying, Jesus, help me change this. want the crown of righteousness. I don't want the tarnished crown of this world. Because it's grace that finishes what grace started. So if you're feeling the exposure of that this morning, I wanna encourage you to respond, to cry out to Jesus and tell him that you want to change directions, and you can do that today. It's a simple, simple, simple prayer that God is faithful to answer.”

#LoveDeterminesFinish
“``And so the question for us, it just the the question for as we look through this is, Okay, Paul, you've talked about a lot of great things, and you've said your life has been poured out, and we read through Scripture and see you've accomplished all these things, and your ministry was somewhat successful even though you're on death row and you're going be beheaded. I don't know that a lot of us would call that success, but great. So do we ask the question, Man, when I finish my race, is it all about how impressive the race was? Or is it about what I loved while I ran it? Because this section here, it shows us that what you love today determines how you finish tomorrow. What you love today determines how you finish tomorrow.”
