#RolledAwayStone
“``cross is Christianity's greatest stone. An empty grave is there to prove that the savior lived. The rolled away stone testifies that God keeps God's promise. And every memory and every memorial in scripture points to God's saving action. God tells Israel, pick up 12 stones. And in John chapter number eight in the New Testament, we find another story of men who pick up stones to stone a woman who was caught in the act of adultery. One group in the Old Testament carries stones to remember grace. One group in the New Testament carries stones to deny grace.”

#LegacyOfFaith
“But I want you to imagine a a child walking through Bethany twenty five years from now and asking, what do these stones mean? Why did you build that building? And what about that building? what about this room? And what about these pictures? And what about these plaques? Will they say that this is where the church became stuck and afraid? Or will they be able to say this is where the church trusted God enough to keep on crossing rivers? This is a movement and a moment. Look back with gratitude. Look up with faith. Look ahead with hope. In the name of the father and of the son and the holy spirit, let the church say, amen.”

#GodStoppedTheRiver
“When you look at the story, notice that the stones never celebrate Israel, they celebrate monument didn't span across, it pointed upward. Not inward, because if it pointed inward, everyone would have their own concept of God. Joshua refused to let Israel say, we crossed because we were clever. No. We crossed because God stopped the river. that's good to me. God stopped the river. Listen. You made it over not because you were a super saint. You crossed not because you were so such and much. You got over it not because you had the right name. You crossed because God stopped the river from running in your life.”

#DontTakeGraceForGranted
“In our text this morning, Israel is standing Canaan. They're standing in the land of promise. And instead of rushing headlong into their destiny, Joshua makes them stop. Why does Joshua make them stop? I don't want you to miss this. Because people who don't remember grace eventually take grace for granted. That that sounds like a Thompson's tip. I think I'm gonna use it this morning. Don't take grace for granted.”
