#GodInTheStorm
“``The wind was still howling. The waves were still crashing against the ship. The ship was still getting tossed around like a toy in a bathtub, but God spoke anyway. We we tend to think that God only shows up once things have calmed down. When things are calm, we say, oh, god showed up. But sometimes, shows up the loudest while the storm is still raging just to prove he was never worried about it in the first place.”

#TrustBeyondSight
“But faith means that after you've cried, after you've questioned, after you've acknowledged what you feel, that you still trust what God has said. Problem is if you're not careful, you let what you don't know make you forget what you do know. Amen. I I I I don't know who'll be standing in this pulpit in the next season, but I still know that Jesus is lord. I I I I don't know exactly what the transition will look like, but I but I know that god is still faithful. I I I don't know what every decision will be, but I know that the holy spirit hasn't left the church. I I I don't know everything about tomorrow, but I know who holds tomorrow.”

#ResurrectionGivesHope
“The one who owns the church is the same one who commands the storm. Because when Jesus is on the ship, the storm doesn't get the final word. And then there was another day that looked worse than any storm at sea. It was a Friday when everything that could fall apart did fall apart. It was a Friday where they hung Jesus on an old rugged cross. It was a Friday that he died, and the disciples scattered. And they took him down off of that cross and laid him in a borrowed tomb. And for three days, it looked like the whole mission had failed. For three days, it looked like it was all over. For three days, it looked like like it was the end of the journey. But then early Sunday morning, Jesus got up with all power in his hands. Death couldn't hold him. The grave couldn't hold him. Hell couldn't defeat him. And because Jesus got up, I know that the church can get through this.”

#MissionNotMethods
“The ship runs aground. It breaks apart in the surf. The vessel that carry them through the storm doesn't make it to the shore in one piece. But remember what God promised. God promised to save the people. He never promised to preserve the ship exactly the way it was when they set sail. What do you mean, pastor? Sometimes, protects the mission by letting the methods change.”
