69s
“``Do everything in love. This command holds everything together. After all, Paul has said in chapter 13, right, let all that you do be done in love, Not some things, not church things only, not easy things only, but all things. You see, truth must be spoken in love, leadership must be practiced in love, correction must be given in love, service must be offered in love and stewardship love. Without love, courage becomes harsh. Without love, strength can easily become pride. Without love, watchfulness can sometimes become suspicion or judgment. And without love, our doctrine is cold, useless because love is at the core.”

“If you're not standing firm now, you won't stand firm then. Standing firm does not mean being stubborn in your opinions. I'm gonna say that again. Standing firm does not mean being stubborn stiff necked people. that was some scripture in your opinions. It means being anchored in Christ and anchored in his word. That's what being ready to stand for Christ is. We're supposed to be brave. Courage is needed because faithfulness will not always be popular.”

“application for us as a church, there are children to teach, families to reach, neighbors to serve, students to encourage, hurting people to comfort, souls that need to be prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Paul reminds us that readiness for Christ return includes faithful stewardship. You see, a church waiting for Jesus is not idle warming pews. A church waiting for Jesus, anxiously waiting for Jesus is generously active, serving about our father's business.”

“Go something like this. Imagine there's a farmer who receives seed in the spring. He gets a seed. Okay. Here's my seed. what am I gonna do with this seed? I could eat this seed, that's much not much sustenance if I eat that seed, is it? Not a good idea. If I eat the seed, it's just gone, right? What if I store this seed, I'll take this seed and I'll put it in an envelope and I'll put it in the file cabinet and it'll be good someday. That's not a good idea. Well, maybe I should plant that seed. See because if I eat it, it's gone and if I store it forever, it never grows. But if I plant it, it will multiply and I'll have more. You see, God gives us resources not simply to consume but to plant. Every offering, every act of service, every hour invested in ministry is like a seed planted in the soil of God's kingdom.”
