The turmoil and unrest in our hearts often stem from a deficiency. This deficiency is not a lack of information, but a failure to truly receive and internalize the truth of who God is. When we hear but do not believe, a disconnect is created. This unbelief is the root of fear, anxiety, and bitterness, preventing God's grace and peace from multiplying in our lives. The solution begins with acknowledging this need for genuine knowledge. [01:41]
2 Peter 1:2-3
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. (KJV)
Reflection: What is one specific truth from Scripture that you find intellectually easy to agree with, but practically difficult to live out? What would it look like this week to actively believe and act upon that truth in a specific situation?
Our struggles are often framed around how they affect us, but a higher perspective reveals a greater theft. When we choose worry, bitterness, or fear over trust, we are not merely harming ourselves; we are robbing God of the glory He is due. He has called us to a life that manifests His character, but unbelief prevents that manifestation. It is a failure to glorify Him as God, which was the very downfall of those who knew Him but refused to honor Him. [05:19]
Romans 1:21
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (KJV)
Reflection: In what current challenge are you most tempted to focus entirely on your own discomfort, rather than on how God might be glorified through your faithful response? How could shifting your focus change your attitude in this situation?
Genuine glory given to God is not a matter of religious words but of a surrendered life. We cannot give what we have not first received. Through salvation, Christ has given us His own glory so that we might radiate it back to Him. This happens not through our own effort, but as we die to self and allow His life to be lived through us. His glory is full of grace and truth, and it is meant to be seen in and through our hearts. [08:08]
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV)
Reflection: Where in your daily interactions (at home, work, or church) do you find it most difficult to "get out of the way" so that Christ's character—His grace and truth—can be manifested through you?
The persistent noise in our souls will not be silenced by mere willpower or worldly explanations. The cure is a deliberate turning—a change of mind that aligns with God's truth. This repentance involves renouncing the hidden things of dishonesty and humbly acknowledging our need for His grace. It is the first word of the gospel and the continual requirement for a life of freedom from the agitation of sin and self. [24:36]
Acts 20:21
Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV)
Reflection: Is there a specific area of thought or behavior where you have been justifying your actions rather than repenting of them? What would it look like today to humbly change your mind and agree with God about that area?
Freedom from internal noise comes through the deliberate process of renewing our minds with the knowledge of God. This is not a passive event but an active pursuit of truth through Scripture, meditation, and fellowship. As we fill our minds with who God truly is—always good, always loving, always in control—our fears and anxieties are replaced with His peace. A small view of God produces great worry; a great view of God produces profound stability. [54:18]
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)
Reflection: Which of God's attributes (e.g., His goodness, faithfulness, or sovereignty) do you most need to meditate on this week to combat a specific worry or fear? What is one practical step you can take to hide that truth in your heart?
Noise in the soul stems from unbelief and a refusal to receive the knowledge of God. When truth fails to settle into the heart, fear, anxiety, bitterness, and instability follow. Grace and peace multiply only through true knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ; hearing without inward reception leaves a double-minded life that remains unsettled. The glory that God intends—Christ dwelling and working within a person—arrives as God gives His glory, and that glory must be returned by living in Christ rather than boasting in self. Unbelief robs God of glory; lip service without obedience cannot manifest Christ’s life.
Honesty and repentance remove the inner clutter. Hidden lies, murmurings, and self-justifying uses of Scripture produce noise and block spiritual usefulness. Renouncing dishonest patterns and confessing sin opens room for Christ’s light to shine, so the gospel in the believer’s life becomes a clear witness to others. The story of Esau warns that trading away grace for a momentary fix forfeits a birthright and can close the door to remedy if repentance never comes.
Renewal proceeds by deliberate intake of Scripture and by fellowship with those who uphold truth. The mind transforms when knowledge replaces worldly patterns—memorizations, meditation, and consistent exposure to sound doctrine form a stable conscience. Preaching and correction preserve spiritual health; refusing doctrine to avoid cost only weakens capacity to endure and to bless others. Practical faith trusts God’s character: God is constant, wise, loving, and able to supply genuine needs. When belief matches these realities, anxiety fades and God’s provision and purpose unfold.
The path to freedom requires a hard, humble turn: repent from self-rule, receive Christ’s glory, and allow Scripture to shape thought and action. Then the soul finds peace, the life manifests Christ, and others see the gospel in a life renewed by knowledge and grace.
Do you see that God himself is more than enough for you? He's not just enough. God is more than enough for you. You got a problem in your home? He is more than enough for you. You got a sickness? He's more than enough for you. Having trouble paying the bills, he is more than enough for you. You you can't find a wife, you want a girlfriend, you're looking for somebody to share your life with, can I tell you something? He is more than enough for you. Don't take it into your hands. Don't despise him. Don't you fail the grace of God. Oh my. If you have, please repent. Please come back to him. Oh, you're it's not gonna turn out well. You will destroy yourself. But the Lord wants to bring you to an expected end. He is so good. Will you make that decision tonight?

Have you ever thought about that before? You know, we talked about give glory to God, give glory to God, but folks, we're not surrendered. We got noise in our soul. We're bitter. We're angry. We're anxious. We're fearful. And then with our mouth, we say, oh, glory to God. Are you giving him glory? The only way to give him glory is to have Christ work in you, in your heart, and through you. The way you glorify God is by manifesting the life of Christ through your life. And you don't do that by murmuring, complaining, bitter, angry, all those things that's causing you those contentions in your heart, and then you talk, oh, give glory to God. Just lip service.

In the saved state with noise in your soul, it's because you're not repenting. Amen? You got anger in your heart. You're bitter at what people have done to you. People are talking behind your back. You're not getting what you want. You're having a fit like a like a kid in a supermarket wanting to buy that new toy and dad won't get it for him, stomping your feet. Amen. I want everybody to know how displeased I am that you don't give me what I want. Well, there is your problem. Your life isn't about what you want. Your life is about what he wants through you. And if you we can get that through our minds and our hearts, if we can get that through our thinking, I'm gonna tell you something, your life will change.

See, if you give up your birthright, you give up your blessing. That's all there's to it. You give up the grace to do the right thing. You give up the blessing for everything that's gonna happen after that. So he goes to his dad and his dad is gonna bless him and instead he blesses Jacob and then he comes in, oh, I'm ready for my blessing. Oh, I just gave you your blessing. That wasn't me. Oh, what can I do now? What can I So Isaac is saying, Esau, I can't change my mind? You know what you think? You think somehow God's gonna change his mind about blessing you with that bitterness in your heart. You think when you have anger and the noise going on in your soul, some of, oh God would just bless me. No, he won't. He can't.

And so you cannot glorify God in your unbelief. They knew God but I'm not glorifying God by believing him and following him. And you know you believe him by following him. If you're not following him, you don't believe him. If you're not acting on it, you don't believe it. You say you believe it, but you don't. Amen. And that's the deceptive part here when you say that you're doing it, but you don't. And that's why the Bible says in first John chapter one, if we say we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth.

Folks, you you cannot function with a soul with lies in it. You cannot hold on to lies and be happy and have peace and and and and, you know, contentment. You're not gonna have it. So you need to renounce. What is renouncing? What's announcing? Announcing is making a proclamation towards. What's renouncing? Taking it back. Yeah. Amen. Taking it back. Say, Lord, I take back all the garbage I've said. I take back all the thoughts that I've been thinking. I take it back and I put it under your blood. Yeah. Amen. That's the only way you're gonna get clear.

Do you think about who he is and what he is and what he's doing? Are you meditating on those truths and saying, wow. My God is so awesome and great. My God is so holy. Does it not make you feel so small in his presence? Hey, folks. When's the last time you got a real view of God? AW Tozer says the biggest problem within our churches today is the fact that they have a very small view of God and therefore their religion has very small impact. The bible says in first Timothy four fifteen, meditate upon these sayings. Give thyself wholly to them that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine. Continue in them for in doing this, thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee. Wow.

let's see here. The glory of God. I wanna talk about the glory of God. Letter a under this. Unbelief robs God of his glory. And this is what you have to think. See see, our thing is, well, why doesn't God help me? No. No. Don't think about you because, well, this isn't about you. This is about him. When you got problems in your life, it's not about you. It's about what you're stealing from him. Amen? And when you put it in that respect, it's a whole lot less where you think about yourself all the time. Amen?
