#GodFirstAlways
“Church, the gods are different today, but the temptation is just the same. Whether it's success or money or sports or comfort or politics or entertainment or achievement or business or social media, none of these things are inherently evil, but they all become dangerous when they take God's rightful place. Joshua's declaration is ultimately this, God will remain first. God will always be first.”

#LearnedByWatching
“Nobody learns grandma's famous recipe by reading the recipe card one time. They learn it by standing beside her. They learn it by listening to her. They learn it by watching her and participating with her. And eventually what was hers becomes theirs. And the same can be said, the same is true for us spiritually. Children often adopt what they consistently observe, not always perfectly and certainly not always automatically, but powerfully.”

#ServeTheLord
“Serving the Lord is the destination. Notice Joshua doesn't say we will continue to believe in God. He says we will serve the Lord. Which means God will have our allegiance, he will have our loyalty, he will have our priority, and he will have all of our action. Joshua is saying, we will refuse to forget God's goodness and his faithfulness. We refuse to worship lesser gods. We refuse to let distractions become our masters.”

#MenLeadByExample
“Men, our influence is greater than you realize. You don't have to be perfect. Truth is I haven't found a perfect man yet outside of our heavenly Father. But your children needs to know what matters to you. And if you declare, if you are stating that Jesus is important, he is most important, then is your life displaying that? If he's not, then maybe today, maybe this time, it's time that you took seriously the question why he is not.”
