The Holy Spirit distributes various gifts to every believer, not for personal glory but for the common good. These divine enablements are designed to build up the body of Christ and serve those around us. When we operate in these gifts, we become conduits of God's grace and power to a world in need. This reflects the heart of God, who desires to use His people to bring life and freedom to others. The purpose is always love and edification. [04:18]
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:7, NIV)
Reflection: Consider the people God has placed in your life. What is one practical way you could use your unique abilities or spiritual gifts to serve and help someone this week?
Frustration can arise when we try to live the Christian life in our own strength, separate from the Spirit's power. Just as an appliance must be plugged into a power source to function, we are designed to be connected to God's power through His gifts. These gifts are the means by which His life and strength flow into our daily circumstances. They are available to every believer who desires to walk in greater dependence on Him. [07:03]
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. (Ephesians 1:18-19a, NIV)
Reflection: Where in your life have you been feeling frustrated or powerless? What would it look like to consciously rely on the Holy Spirit’s power in that area instead of your own strength?
The enemy operates by revealing accurate information about the past to gain a foothold, but he always follows it with destructive lies about the future. In contrast, only God holds the future and speaks words of life, hope, and redemption. The enemy’s power is limited to sin and believing his deception, but Christ’s blood has broken sin’s mastery and given us authority to reject lies. We must choose to believe God’s truth over the enemy’s accusations. [13:38]
When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44b, NIV)
Reflection: Is there a lie about your identity or your future that you have been believing? What is a specific promise from Scripture that you can hold onto to counter that lie today?
The gifts of the Spirit often require a step of faith into the unknown. It is in moments of risk and dependence that God’s power flows most freely through us. We are called to move beyond mere observation and into active participation, trusting that the Holy Spirit will provide the necessary wisdom, knowledge, or faith for the moment. This adventurous journey of faith is how we partner with God to see His kingdom advance. [08:25]
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6, NIV)
Reflection: What is one ‘step of faith’ you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you to take—whether it’s praying for someone, speaking an encouraging word, or trusting God for something specific?
God has provided a clear path for us to receive and walk in the spiritual gifts. It begins with a decision to not be ignorant about them, followed by a heartfelt desire for them. We then position ourselves to receive through impartation and relationship with other believers. Finally, we must step out and actively use what God has given us. This process allows God’s power to flow through us to change situations and bring glory to His name. [32:42]
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. (2 Timothy 1:6, NIV)
Reflection: Which of these steps—becoming aware, desiring, receiving, or stepping out—do you feel God is highlighting to you right now? What is one tangible action you can take to move forward in it?
A living, active Holy Spirit distributes diverse spiritual gifts so the church can carry God’s power into everyday life. Scripture affirms wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation as distinct gifts given for mutual building and practical ministry. The Spirit empowers resurrected life; believers receive the same Spirit that raised Christ, and that Spirit expects partnership—awareness, desire, reception, and bold steps unlock these gifts. Spiritual gifts do not compete with human effort but enable ordinary obedience: forgiveness, parenting, business decisions, and courageous outreach flow more fruitfully when Spirit-gifts guide and strengthen.
Dark spiritual forces can access information about a person’s past, but they cannot author a person’s future; lies seize open wounds where sin and unbelief invite them. The remedy lies in the gospel’s exchange—Christ bearing sin so believers can stand righteous—and in activating God’s gifts to speak truth, healing, and freedom into broken narratives. Historical examples and contemporary testimony demonstrate that prayer, tongues, prophetic words, and faith can deliver tangible restoration: sickness healed, fear displaced, hearts mended, and entire households repositioned under God’s rule.
Faith demands risk: believing often requires stepping into the unknown, trusting God’s prompting even without fully formed proof. The Spirit supplies faith and courage; small seeds of faith move mountains when acted on. Practical instruction highlights four steps to receive gifts: become aware of them, desire them, receive through impartation, and step into their exercise. Impartation through laying on of hands and relational connection remains a biblical pathway to activation. The expectation set here calls for immediate, humble obedience—asking for wisdom, pursuing prophetic sensitivity, praying for healing, and exercising discernment in homes and workplaces—so the kingdom advances by signs, love, and truth.
And the frustration that it can bring is like people saying this. They say, the gifts have ceased. No. You ceased. You ceased believing because something happened. You ceased taking risks. Faith is spelled, if you want a Greek translation, r I s k. I've never been in a situation where God's power and presence begins to flow where it doesn't involve me taking a step and out to the unknown.

What what's up with this dumb ratio system in Christianity? There's probably a three percent chance of someone getting healed. You know? We pray for a 100 people, maybe three will get touched. Hey. Listen. I don't know who gave you your math system, but it wasn't the Holy Ghost. Because when the Holy Ghost was in operation in Jesus' life, every how's Jesus? How do we know he's working? Everyone's getting healed. Do you know the only place in the Bible where there's a few miracles is a place that should concern you?

Went for about sixty seconds. Felt to just pray and felt to move on. Praying, praying, praying, praying. Three days later, I get an email from this young lady, and she said, I wanna tell you about something that happened to me. When you prayed for me and you prayed in tongues over me, she said, I was a missionary kid, and we lived in Africa, and we spoke Swahili. And as you began to pray, I heard in Swahili these words, move forward. Move forward. It's time to move forward.

God gives gifts to his people too. It's not just psychics who can see in the spirit. God's gifts are greater because they carry love and life and healing and truth. And mom gave her heart to Jesus at 18, and Jesus redeemed her, healed her, and transformed her. And look. This week, celebrate twenty year twenty eight years of marriage, Rebecca and I, by being loved by one guy. Most of the time, I love her. But God's power is greater.

And and that's that's the reality. People aren't trying to be wicked and evil and get bound up. They're people around your life are searching for answers, and you actually got a gift inside that's gonna bring an answer. Well, she walks into the psychic, and this is what happens. It is a crazy situation. She's never met this person. Rebecca sits down, and the psychic says, you're adopted, aren't you? And your birth mother gave your adopted mother one gift and one gift only, a blanket. Isn't that right?

But when I'm in the unknown, this gift starts to come up out of me, out of my spirit, begins to flow, and that's where the and the holy spirit friends, he's not ceased. Yeah. He if anything I don't know if it's theologically correct. He's, like, increased. His I can sense his power right now. I can sense it in the worship. I mean, these are great days. You've got a gift. There's a gift to connect you to it. Yeah. Now
