But here's the truth that I want us to hear today. You are loved. Yes. And absolutely nothing can separate you from the love of god. Not the past, not the worries today, not the future of tomorrow, not the unpredictability, not news headlines, not leadership, not lack of leadership, not somebody's opinion, not even the job when they run out of coffee at the coffee pot. Now that's a miracle, beloved. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God. [00:30:02] (42 seconds)  #YouAreLovedAlways Download clip

But the god who loves us did not leave it there. Through a cross, I kinda think we sang one of those songs too. It was at the cross that god's love bridged the gap to our humanity, and God made all the difference. He made a way for us to be whole, living into our purpose, forgiven, and living into a way where our life is made new. Not because we earned it, not because we deserved it, but because he loves us enough that he doesn't wanna settle for anything less than his fullness in our lives. So that big formal part, the unmerited favor of God, those are those few words. But I love how one of my mentors puts it. His name is doctor David Busick, and he frames grace like this. It is god's consistent work in and through us. What if what God is inviting in our life is not our action, but our response to what he's already doing? So, beloved, my question today, my invitation for us is what if it doesn't start, oh, look what God did, so I better go and do all this work. What if it is, look what God is doing. And from the overflow of what God is doing in my life, I am living in the abundant grace of God. [01:20:29] (28 seconds)  #OverflowingGrace Download clip

But if we're not careful, we get so excited about sitting right here that we forget that God has called us not only to come into these doors, but to go out these doors and make disciples of all the nations. You see, we are not just a people who have received. We are a people who are sent. This is the place that we receive and experience the glory of God, but we receive and experience the glory of God not just to hold it, but to share it. I was unsure of how to go about this, and I felt totally inadequate. I love this. I was scared to death, if you wanna know the truth of it. And so nothing I said could have impressed you or anyone else. But the message came through anyway. God's spirit and God's power did it. God made it clear that your life of faith is a response to God's power, not to some fancy mental or emotional footwork by me or anyone else. [01:04:21] (46 seconds)  #FaithIsGodsPower Download clip

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind can know what God has prepared for those who love him. But you have seen and heard it because God, by his spirit, has brought it all out into the open before you. The spirit is not content to flit around on the surface, but dives into the depths of God and brings out what God planned all along. [01:07:09] (41 seconds)  #SpiritRevealsTruth Download clip

But what if there's another way? First Corinthians chapter two teaches us that maybe there's another way. What if the work of transformation in people's lives is not about my hit and run love, not about my, do you know? Don't misunderstand me. Urgency is important. Or have you heard the latest news, x y z? Jesus must be coming tomorrow. You better get right now. Whatever it is. I'm not challenging what God puts in our heart, but what if there's another way?
