“You know the world and the devil think they have won. You'd think they would have learned a lesson. You'd think the devil and his minions would have learned a lesson. They thought they had won when he was lying, standing, crucified. They thought they had won when Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus took his body from the cross and put him in the borrowed tomb. The devils doubtless were rejoicing. They thought they had won. Then on the third day, they were proven wrong.”

“Wasn't it enough to walk arm in arm, shoulder to shoulder, seeing the miracles, eating the bread and fish, from his from his own lips? Wasn't that enough? Something is missing yet. It is the Holy Spirit. was enough for Peter to chop off a man's ear in defense of Jesus. But not until the Holy Spirit fell upon Peter could he preach with authority, with soul saving power. You may be the most enthusiastic, zealous, well educated, most determined disciple in the whole world.”

“They didn't know that he was arising, ascending, going to the right hand of the father to ever live, to make intercession for us. An intercessor stands between you and a and a needed thing. What we need is the forgiveness of the triune God. And Jesus, who paid the price, continues to intercede for his children. Therein is the victory. That this Jesus who left us here to be a missional people to carry out his command to take his good news to the whole world, that Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit to indwell us and he sent the Lord Jesus to intercede for us.”

“expect his victory. This is very helpful as you start to attempt to be witnesses near, there, to them, and to the uttermost parts. You expect the victory. Has not Jesus been victorious in everything he ever decided to do? Does not God call all things under the counsel of his own will? Expect the victory. Expect Jesus to do what he said he would do. The only thing you can do is be prepared. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians five eighteen, be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

“Please know this, without the unction and movement of the Holy Spirit, your words will fall flat on hardened hearts and your appearance will fall dim on blinded eyes. Oh, that the Holy Spirit would come alive in you and me. So that we would see ourselves as as a missional believers in a movement. Not part of a denomination, not part of a church. Together, we are in a movement to make Jesus famous.”

“You may be the most enthusiastic, zealous, well educated, most determined disciple in the whole world. But without the filling and anointing and unction of the Holy Spirit, you will not produce fruit that remains. They needed enabling. And enabling is God doing through you what God chooses to do. The old timers called it unction. Verse eight, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. The word power, of course, is dunamis. It means well, you know, the English word dynamite.”

“The church at its inception was essentially a movement. It wasn't a religious organization. It wasn't a building that people a place that people went to. It was a it was a missional group. It was it was a movement of born again people who worked to take the gospel to the whole world. This movement was built around the conviction that Jesus died. That when he died, his death, burial, and resurrection was sufficient to save sinners.”

“When was the last time that you shared your faith with someone? I mean, a friend, a neighbor, a coworker, a classmate in school. When was the last time that you looked someone in the eye and asked them, how about your walk with God and relationship with Jesus Christ? I think we've thought it too ordinary to keep politics and religion out of our off our lips in public discourse. Jesus said, we are to take this news and share it broadly.”
