#SabbathFoundation
“And I'm not gonna get caught up in the lies of the world. I'm gonna listen to the truth of god's word, and I'm gonna ask him to make me a palm tree and a cedar tree. I don't wanna be the grass around me. And so a sabbath is a reminder that my foundation is in a god who calls me to trust him and to rest in his presence. Because the rest of the week, the world is calling you differently. They're calling you to think you can control, you can create, and you can fix all your own circumstances.”

#SabbathIsAGift
“Sabbath is a gift. You're like, yeah, exactly. Please, gift it to me. No. Jesus actually said this. He said, man, a Sabbath was made for man. Man was not made for Sabbath. Sabbath was made for man. Man was not made for Sabbath. It's a gift from God. It's for us because of what our souls truly need. Sabbath is also a step in trust.”

#SabbathRevealsTruth
“David's giving you a visible example of how you ought to live your life according to what God is saying, what God is telling you, not what the world is telling you, and how you're living according to what you're chasing after. But you can't find that if you don't have a Sabbath moment where you sat down, you turned everything off, you focused on God, you heard his truth that, listen, although my mind is wondering how come they look like they're living a better life than me, that's gonna fade.”

#LetGodBeGod
“That's all I'm asking for. It's just a break. I just want a break from all the things that I'm always engaged with. I just need some rest. And here's God saying to the nature of Israel, your value and who you are will no longer be in what you do. It's who I intended you to always be. And the only way you're gonna realize that is when you stop doing things and you let me be God. When you stop producing and you let me be in control of what you think you can do.”

#TruthCenteredPerspective
“What do you mean, why do I need a Sabbath? Because a Sabbath in a moment where you put away the world and you come back to the presence and the truth of God changes your thinking, changes the way you see things. Your perspective is now centered in truth, not in the world.”

#TrustTheGoodShepherd
“And the Sabbath is the moment you step back and go, I'm gonna finally admit I'm not in control, and I can't fix. And I need the creator of the world in this season of life to be this shepherd. Let me see the goodness of it, and I will declare your praise instead of trying to do more to get more praise from people I keep chasing after.”

#ReturnToRefuge
“My mind has been infested with the way the world thinks because I scroll on social media and listen more to influencers than I do the truth of God's word. God, I worked so long this week. I negated my home, and I negated your presence. All to hopefully get ahead, But I can't keep doing this, so I admit I need you right now. God, I need you to be my refuge that I run to when I'm broken. But more than just running to when I'm broken, I need moments of my life where I stop and I pause, and I make sure you're my firm foundation for everything that I do.”

#RepentAndTrust
“I say I trust you, but the way I navigate my work and my life and my school doesn't display that. And to the detriment of my own life, my own soul. Maybe you're honest to God and say, to my marriage, to my home. And God, today, I need to repent, and I needed to tell you I'm sorry for trying to do something in my life that you were intended to do for me.”
