What You Sow God Will Grow | Managing What God Has Given You — Part 3 | Pastor Jesse Diaz

The call to stewardship starts with one clear foundation: God owns it all. The earth is the Lord’s, everything in it, the world and all its people belong to Him. God is not asking believers to hand over something that belongs to them. God is teaching His people how to manage what already belongs to Him.

Tithes belong to God, offerings are between the believer and God, seed sowing builds expectancy for harvest, and special seed stretches faith beyond routine. Special means sacrifice. Special means stepping out of the normal rhythm and asking God what He wants sown into His house. What a person sows, God will grow, but stewardship asks what happens when the blessing starts coming in.

Deuteronomy presses the heart to remember where the wealth came from. God gives power, wisdom, gifting, promotion, understanding, and success so His covenant can be fulfilled. The danger is not success itself. The danger is letting success turn into “I did this thing,” while forgetting brokenness, healing, deliverance, and the God who brought the increase.

Stewardship also means plain, practical planning. Proverbs says good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, while shortcuts lead to poverty. Faith does not mean refusing to plan. Faith plans while trusting God. A budget is not bondage, it gives money direction, because mature stewardship knows what comes in, what goes out, and what belongs first to God.

The wise do not spend everything they get. Wisdom leaves something in reserve because washers break, cars break, ACs go out, and rainy days come. Savings are not a lack of faith. Savings are preparation. Contentment learns how to live with much and with little, trusting Christ to strengthen the believer in every condition.

Debt must be handled carefully because the borrower becomes servant to the lender. Some debt can enable, but unmanageable debt enslaves. Today’s desires can become tomorrow’s chains when spending is not examined in the light of wisdom.

Jesus ties faithfulness with worldly wealth to true riches. Faithfulness in little things prepares a person for greater responsibility. If God cannot trust a believer with money, private choices, other people’s things, or small assignments, then spiritual increase is hindered. Wherever treasure is, the heart is there also, and money reveals what the heart truly values.
