#FindPurposeInGod
“``if you've been chasing purpose anywhere else, let this be the week where you stop running after it and you just start seeking God. Because Solomon spent a lifetime looking for what you've been looking for. He searched farther than you'll be able to search in your lifetime. And after all of that, he left us with one sentence. Fear God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole duty of man. And you don't have to spend your whole life learning what Solomon learned too late. That your purpose was never found in what you do. It's found in who made you.”

#MadeToKnowGod
“Johnny Cash stood at the end of his life, and he called his empire dirt. Solomon would have told him, it's because you weren't made for the empire. You were made for something greater than that. You were made to know God. And the moment that you find your purpose there, everything else is going to fall right into place. Those achievements are still good. The home, the family, they are still a blessing from the Lord. Your career still matters, but none of those things were meant to carry the weight of who you are and the reason you're here. God alone was meant to carry that weight, and he can hold it.”

#OnlyGodSatisfies
“The restlessness that Solomon describes across 12 chapters of this book, the hunger that never gets satisfied, the chasing after the wind that he could never catch up, the toiling under the hot sun day after day after day, the bubble that pops right in his hands right when he thinks he gets it. It's all meant to point to this one matter, that you were built with a longing that only God could satisfy. That emptiness that you feel when that goal gets hit, and your heart still says you need more. It's not a sign that you're broken. It's not a sign that there's something wrong with you. It's a sign that you were created for something greater than that. He built you on that way with a purpose. It's so that when you try to find any other avenue, and it fails, and it will, that you'll know exactly where to look.”

#GodIsEnough
“I describe my version of it. I'm sure everybody in this room has their own version of it too. Because the wisest, the wealthiest, the most accomplished human being who had ever existed tried every other avenue, anything that you could possibly imagine to find satisfaction, to find purpose, to find meaning, and it failed him. And after exhausting every other option, he concluded that the meaning of life, the reason we're here, the reason that it matters is living in a relationship with the one that made you and knows you and loves you. After everything else fails, God is enough.”
