Devotional

Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

1. "How can you change the world? The answer is, with one small step of faith at a time. And it is that accumulation of small steps of faith that lead to life change in your life and can impact others, even all the way around the world." 2. "God was tapping right here, saying, I have an invitation for you. I want you to join me in what I'm about to do. I'm going to take a remnant of children that the world would say, as an orphan in a developing country, losing parents to AIDS, there's very little hope for. And I'm going to raise them for my glory." [00:26:56] (23 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "All we could say is God is faithful. And however we're earning a living today, if he's calling us to go to the orphan and tell them there's a God who knows your name, who wants to redeem your life just because you're an orphan does not mean that's the end of your life." 4. "What they need more than any material thing is to know me, to know Christ. And when we go to the orphan with that purity of intention to, to sacrifice all of our needs so that they might have Christ, that's when God works powerfully. And I can testify to that because I've seen it and I've watched it for over 20 years." [00:46:45] (23 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "I can make the claim that a small step of faith can truly save a life. You just don't know when and how and where God will do it. But that's who he is. He's a rescuer. He's a redeemer. He's a restorer of life." [00:55:07] (15 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "I'm telling you, ask God today as you walk out and look at some of those tables. And I encourage you to do that. What would you want to do Lord? And let me listen and hear so I can respond in a small step of faith. And see you rescue, redeem, and restore life to others. Amen." 7. "To glorify God and see orphans raised to life in Christ in a home, in a family, and in a community where they're known and loved. That's what every orphan needs. And that's what every orphan receives when they know Jesus. The love and care in a home, in a family, in a community that's loving them and knowing them." 8. "And so, once, once we started doing that and seeing God work literally right in front of our, our eyes, rescuing an orphan, redeeming them, then we'd say, okay, now what? What do we do next? I mean, because, okay, they've received Jesus. You can see the life in them. And, but they still need to eat today. And they still need to go to school tomorrow. They still need clothes. They still need a place to live." [00:31:43] (23 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

9. "And so, these amazing women, these widows who come and make that step of faith with us have been raising these children now for over 20 years. And we've got some great stories to share with you about that. But that's what's unique, I think, about our ministry is we never intended to create an institutional setting for these children where we could just feed them and educate them and clothe them. No, they needed a family." [00:33:53] (23 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

10. "And so, our homes typically look like this. You have a widow who is answering the call of God to care for children who are not her own. That's her step of faith. And that's not a small step of faith either. That's a commitment for probably 13, 14, or 15 years to move into a home and to receive children who are broken, who are traumatized, who are hurting, and agree with God that He's going to heal their hearts and He's going to raise them up for His glory."
