#StartAFaithJournal
“So I encourage you, start a faith journal. Start a tab on your phone, a Google doc, whatever you wanna do, and write down the ways that God has been there before. Because there's gonna be more giants. And so when you see the next giant, you can remind yourself, God is faithful then. He'll be faithful now. God is bigger than any giant.”

#StewardYourInfluence
“Your words carry influence. The way you live carries influence. I wanna remind you this morning, you have more influence than you know. You have more influence in your family than you know. You have more influence at school than you know. You have more influence at your workplace than you know. What is God calling you to do to steward your influence? To live for him fully, a living sacrifice full of faith, not fear. Speaking truth, not lies. Standing strong for your convictions, for your faith. Your words carry influence.”

#FocusOnJesus
“So this morning, are you going to focus on? Focus on the things that are causing fear? Focus on the giants? Focus on the diagnosis? Focus on the problems? Focus on the past? Or are you gonna focus on Jesus? Are you gonna focus on his word? Are you gonna focus on his promises to you to never leave you or forsake you? Are you gonna focus on his promise that you know the truth and the truth will set you free? Are you gonna focus on his promises that you're his masterpiece created for good works which he prepared in advance for you to do? What are you gonna focus on? You get to choose what you're gonna focus on because your life and your legacy will be shaped. By your decision, are you gonna focus your eyes on the things causing fear or focus your eyes on Jesus and walk by faith.”

#NoNeutralGround
“There's no neutrality here. There's no neutral ground. 10 spies were rebellious, cowards. Two came back with a good report. There is no neutral. And so all of us will experience fear. Fear isn't the sin, but what is a sin is choosing to reject God, to shrink back, to deny Him, to disobey because of fear, to despise Him.”

#GetOffTheSidelines
“So it's time to get off the sidelines if that's where you find yourself this morning. To get into the game, to use your words and your faith, to inspire, to build, to take ground, to move the kingdom forward, to take a risk for the kingdom of God, to step out of your comfort zone. In Numbers chapter 14 verse nine, Joshua doesn't respond when they were all talking about fear. He doesn't respond by saying, hey, guys. Let's just try to be a little bit more brave. Okay? Like, let's just try to be a little bit braver. Okay? That's not how he responds.”

#ChooseFaithNotFear
“God told the Israelites he was giving them the land. They just need to have faith and obey and move forward to get off the sidelines. 10 spies spoke fear, discouragement, and death. Joshua and Caleb spoke faith. The 10 spies focused on the giants. Joshua and Caleb focused on the God who was with them. So church, what are you gonna focus on? In your life, what are you gonna focus on? What are the things that have been keeping you up at night? The things that you've been anxious about, the things that you've been worrying about? And what would it look like to focus on God? To cast your cares on him, to fill your mind up with the truth of God's word. That in your home, maybe you start playing worship music over the speakers so that all day as you're going about your work, you're hearing the truth proclaimed, the worship of God proclaimed.”

#FightForTheFrame
“But as soon as they see opposition, they forget the promise, and they start dwelling on the giants that are in front of them. As Christians, it's hard not to just preach the message as it is. I'm trying to get through scripture, and then but we're just gonna say a couple things here. As Christians, and especially as leaders, and all of you in this room have leadership and influence in different spaces where God has placed you. As leaders, it's our responsibility, our duty to fight for the frame. Here's what I mean by that. How do you frame your reality? When you see a giant, when you see opposition, how do you frame it? Do you frame it in perspective of knowing the God who is with you, who will fight for you, or do you just frame it as, I can't take that on my own? Which, correct, you can't take it on your own. But do you forget, or do you remind yourself the Lord who is with you and all the things that he's done before? We have to fight for the frame. How do you frame reality? Here's how Caleb did it. Verse 30, Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and he said, let us go up at once and occupy it for we are able to overcome it.”

#DifferentSpirit
“Lord, you show us ourselves as we read these stories. It's like a mirror that when you look into your word, that looks back into us, that you're speaking to us, that your word is living and active. So, Lord, would you show us where we've lost sight of the big picture, where we've given in to fear and rebellion and doubt and discouragement. Lord, your word says that Caleb had a different spirit about him. Lord, I pray that us here at Harvest would live with that kind of spirit, a different spirit. Not of fear, but of power and love and self control.”
