#JesusMultiplies
“``And what we find is in the moments of Philip and Andrew saying, like, we don't have enough. It can't be done. It is into that moment Jesus then speaks. It is into that moment Jesus enters the scene and he takes command and he says, tell him to sit down. And into the hands of Jesus goes the bread, the little bit of bread. That's the turning point here, friends. That's the moment that the story becomes miraculous. Because the little bit, the not enough, this is impossible, goes into the hands of the savior Jesus. And it is into the hands of Jesus where the very plain and the very meager personal is transformed into a mighty miracle.”

#SurrenderYourLittle
“And is in that moment, it is in that moment that I wonder if that is the invitation of this passage to take our meager offerings and gifts, to take our brokenness, our humanness, our weariness, our tiredness, our not enoughs, and to say, Lord, can I place these things into your hand? Lord, can I give you all of me tattered and broken as I may be? Lord, can I give you my little bitty offering? Lord, can I give you my little bit of service? Lord, can I give you my little bit of faith? And would you do something, Lord? Would you do something with that? I wonder if that's the invitation of Jesus simply inviting us to give him our little because it is in our little and in our weakness and in our brokenness that Jesus makes much of it.”

#JesusIsEnough
“And I think sometimes that's kind of where we live. We live in this place of like, Lord, I don't have a lot to offer you. Lord, I I don't have a lot to give to you. Lord, I don't really have enough to give to you, or I don't have enough, or I'm not enough. And what we find is Jesus asks a question in John chapter six, and the response of the people around Jesus is just that, I don't really have enough. We we don't have enough, Lord. Philip begins doing some arithmetic. Another disciple, Andrew, finds a boy with some fish and some bread, and they all come to the same conclusion. We just don't have enough, Lord. And what those disciples learned and what I believe the Lord was attempting to teach that day on a hillside in John chapter six and what I think the Lord in his holy through his holy spirit attempting to speak to even us today and to teach us even today is that that story in John chapter six and that moment was never really about whether what those disciples had was enough. It was whether Jesus was enough. And let me tell you, he's more than enough.”

#BreadForTheSoul
“I can't condemn I I can't really fathom never being I'm hungry right now. Oh, but Jesus is talking of a greater bread. Jesus is talking of a bread that does not only satisfy the tummy, but satisfies the soul. That satisfies like a deep ache and a hunger and a thirst within us. That there's like this overwhelming, like, flood of his presence and of his peace because it comes from Jesus himself. So this morning, I guess I'm just kinda curious like, what is it that you've been seeking to devour and to eat hoping that it will satisfy like, the deep hunger that's in the soul? What have you turned to? What have you what have you looked to? What have you cling to? What what is it you're turning to thinking like this is the thing or the things that will satisfy? And if it isn't Jesus, you will be hungry still.”

#TrustHisPlan
“This leads me to a little bit of a second idea. Not only that Jesus already knew what he was going to do in this circumstance and in any circumstance and story that we can face, like, Jesus knows what he is doing and we can trust him for he sustains all things. We also, secondly, maybe see or learn that Jesus invites us to place what we have in his hands. Jesus invites us to place what we have into his hands. Now I love this next piece of the story here. Because as Jesus asks the question, Philip seemingly begins to count and look at the budget and the ledger. Can we make this happen? Can we buy enough bread? And Philip is recognizing we don't have money for this. We've got a little bit of money, but not enough money. Philip's response to Jesus is that, Lord, the math ain't mathing. We can't buy enough here.”

#OnlyJesusSatisfies
“The worship team comes forward to lead us in a closing song, and as we respond this morning through communion, I believe every one of us comes hungry. And the Lord knows everything is bare before him, and he knows us completely inside and out. And he knows the hungers and the thirsts and the aches of our souls. And he knows that we spend our lives trying to satisfy those longings with success and relationships and possessions and achievements and comforts, good things. But he also knows that those things are never meant to satisfy us, that it's only through Jesus we can have life and a life of satisfaction.”

#GodHasAPlan
“And I just wonder in our lives sometimes, if we live in this constant thread of, like, being anxious and nervous, And when life's circumstances and uncertainties arise, we feel the questions of life like Jesus asked Philip, I wonder if that anxiousness kind of hits us and we get worried and we get unsure and we get to calculating and doing all the arithmetic and looking at the budget and seeing if we can do this and if this is gonna work out and we get anxious all about us, well, what would it look like if we remembered that Jesus already knows what he's gonna do? That he already has he already has this. He's already got a plan. He's already got a solution, and he invites us to look to him. He invites us to turn towards him. He invites us to follow him in whatever it is that is before us.”

#PlaceYourOffering
“You see, the turning point of this story is not that they finally found enough bread. It's not that they turned just a little bitty. They they cut enough pieces off those little pieces of bread and fish to maybe get around to everyone. You see, the turning point is when what little they had was placed into the mighty hands of Jesus. At some point, and we don't see how this plays out, but at some point in this text of John chapter six, the meal had been found. The meal was brought to Jesus. And whether it was by coercion or this little boy felt compelled or compassionate or wanted to share or Andrew stole it from the little guy and gave it to Jesus. We don't know exactly. The meager meal was put into the hands of Jesus.”
