### Quotes for Outreach

1. "Our response as Christians, as our memory verse has been, as we've been looking at this week, is to not curse them. It's not to hate other people. It's to bless them. It's to love them. It's to be kind to them. We don't have to be in agreement with everything that people do. I know there's a lot of people that are agitated and irritated with the news media, with certain political parties. But as Christians, we don't fight against flesh and blood. The solution to what's going on in our country is not going to be who's the next president. The solution to our country starts here, and us preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ." 2. "And we don't hope like they do. Our hope is in Jesus Christ. And we love people. And we care about people no matter what stripe they come from. And let's just pray that God will do a work. You know, many years ago, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. And what was the retribution? You know what happened during the Civil War that changed a lot of things in the country for a long time? There was a revival that broke out. And so retaliation didn't happen as much across the world because revival had broken out. And it starts with the heart of men and our hearts getting right with God." [06:32] (33 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "You don't want to know what the key to happiness is in our world. Serve other people. Grab a bucket of water and wash the feet. The key to happiness is to be able to go and take a bucket of water and a hose and go out and wash my car for me this morning. You'll be really happy if you do that. I'm telling you, you'll be so happy to do that. I'll be happy if you do that. That's what happiness is. Happiness isn't about getting. Happiness isn't about other people doing for me. Happiness is the privilege that I have to do for other people. It's better to give than to receive." [44:57] (33 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "You want people to know that you're a follower of Jesus Christ? It's not through your preaching. It's not through your praying. It's not through your Bible study. It's through your love. One for another. When you're really willing to agape love, the sacrificial love for other people, people go, that's so different. That's so strange in our world around us. And Jesus is telling his disciples, you must love one another. You must care for one another. You're about to go through hard times. I'm leaving. I'm about to die. You're going to feel forsaken. You're going to deny me. You're going to serve me. You're going to shame me. You're going to succumb to me. You're going to scatter from me." ### Quotes for Members

1. "If you knew you only had a couple hours left upon this earth to live, how would you spend your time? Who would you spend it with? What would you spend your time talking about? In John chapter number 13 through 17, we get an insight into what was important to Jesus Christ. He wanted to spend his time with them. He wanted to spend his time with them. He wanted to spend his last couple of hours, not with the unsaved world around him, but with his disciples. The ones he had spent so much time with and training and preparing. He was trying to get them ready for his departure. He knows what they're about to go through. He knows the difficulties they're about to face." 2. "And this relays an important truth to us, that serving others is never not an option for us. No matter how special we might think ourselves to be, no matter what someone else has done to us, like Judas betraying Jesus, we are to be selfless servants to other people. See, the job of washing someone's feet, which Jesus did here, would have often been done by the slave of the house, one of the servants, one of the people that worked in the house. In this era, people wore sandals and walked on dirt paths. It was inevitable for their feet to get dirty with dust. Their feet would get sweaty, that dust would get kicked up, and it would stick to their feet." [37:39] (47 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

3. "Happiness comes from treating others better than they deserve to be treated. They didn't deserve to have their feet washed by Jesus Christ, but he was willing to do it. Happiness comes from serving others that might be lower than you are, that might be in a position of less power than you are, that might not have all the prestige that you have. Happiness, greatness comes from lowering yourself. It comes from acting as a slave to your own servants. Happiness, greatness comes from doing for other people. See, the first lesson that Jesus Christ wants to get across as he is about to leave is that they must serve other people." [46:16] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "Heartache and bewilderment were on the doorstep for the disciples. They would be so confused, so heartbroken over what Judas was about to do. But Jesus tells them, you must keep trusting. I know what's happening. I know what's going on. You might not be aware, but I do. I know what's coming up. And your job is to keep trusting in me because this, though it doesn't make sense to you, though it seems difficult to you, is going to be used for the glory of God. I know what's going to happen. I know what's going to happen. I know what's going to happen. I know what's going to happen." [54:45] (33 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "You know, life can be hard. We can go through some deep and troubling valleys of life that cause us to question and to doubt. We can be betrayed and hurt by other people, but we must remember to continue to serve others for in serving, we will find happiness. We must remember to continue to trust God for in trusting, we will find God is glorified through our situation. We must remember to continue to love others for in loving, we will find that we impact our world. Serve, trust, love other people is a lesson that Jesus Christ is trying to get across to them as their world is about to be turned upside down."
