“``But, I know my own heart, and I know that it is difficult to be generous. It's hard for me to see beyond the needs of myself, my own family, my own church. It's hard for me to be joyfully open handed with what I have for the sake of others. But this takes us to the heart of the gospel, doesn't it? But there's something that smells very Christian about this. What is the good news of Christianity except that God the Father gave up what he loved the most, his only begotten son, he gave him up for sinners, for rebels against him. God the father gave up what he loved for the good of those who hated him. There is no better picture of generosity than the very heart of God.”

“Brothers and sisters, no qualified pastor should fail for lack of encouragement. No faithful church should falter for lack of encouragement. And, the New Testament pattern is one of encouraging as much as possible. Alright. So, what can you do? What can you do? Well, first, keep doing what you're doing. I know that last year you hosted a nine Marks Conference right here on Biblical Theology. Who knows how God might have used that time to put wind in the sails of a struggling pastor. Or maybe help, simply a faithful Christian needing to know how to put the bible together.”
