Day 1: Our True Identity—Servants of Christ Jesus

To introduce himself to the Roman church, Paul does not focus on his impressive credentials or personal achievements, but instead calls himself a servant—literally, a slave—of Christ Jesus. This identity is not one of mere obligation, but of deep devotion and belonging. Paul’s life was radically reoriented by his encounter with Jesus, and he now sees himself as wholly owned by his loving Master. This challenges us to consider whether we, too, see our primary identity as belonging to Christ, living each day under His loving authority and for His purposes. [35:49]

Day 2: Loving What Our Master Loves

Paul’s servanthood is not just about loving God, but also about loving what God loves—especially His church. Even though Paul had never met the believers in Rome, he cared deeply for them because they were precious to Christ. This kind of love is sacrificial and enduring, willing to endure hardship for the sake of others. We are invited to examine our own hearts: do we love our brothers and sisters in Christ, and do we invest in the church as something dear to our Lord? [40:31]

This calling is not reserved for apostles alone; every believer is set apart to live for God’s purposes and to share His good news. Day 4: The Gospel—God’s Promised Fulfillment

The gospel Paul preached was not a new invention, but the fulfillment of God’s ancient promises. From the prophets to the coming of Jesus, God’s plan was always to cleanse, renew, and give His Spirit to His people. The resurrection of Jesus is the ultimate proof that He is both the promised Messiah and the Son of God. This assurance grounds our faith and gives us confidence that God keeps His promises and that our hope in Christ is secure. [53:56]

Paul emphasizes that before we can serve God or fulfill any purpose, we must first receive His grace. Grace is God’s unearned gift, and it is only after receiving it that we are empowered to live out our calling. True faith is not just belief, but a living trust that produces obedience and transformation. Saving faith always leads to a changed life, marked by surrender and service. Let God’s grace be the foundation of your identity and your actions today. [58:06]

“The word servant uh that we have in our Bibles come from the Greek word tulos which refer to the involuntary, involuntary and permanent service of a slave. “Paul elevated the meaning of being a slave of Jesus Christ to be within the framework of love. In other words, uh Paul was a slave of Jesus Christ, but he was a slave for love. The book of Exodus offers us the image of a slave for love for the first time. In Exodus 21 verse 5, we find this we find these words.”

“Being a slave for love means not only loving your master. It also means loving what your master what your master loves. And this was a characteristic in Paul's life. He not only loved God, he did. But he not only loved God, he also loved what God loved. In this case, his church.”

“Paul, in other words, Paul was saying, I don't mind what I have to suffer. I don't mind. I don't mind my situation. I love my master and I love the church because the church is important to my master, to my lord. and I I'll do everything for the sake of the elect.”

“The apostle Paul's purpose in life was to be a messenger of God, an ambassador of God with the responsibility of delivering the message of salvation to a world unwilling to listen. In 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 20, Paul says, "Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ." God making his appealing through us.”

“But in a broad sense, every true Christian is an apostle in the sense that we are also people sent by God with a message to deliver. In first Peter uh chapter 2:9, Peter says, "But you, you are you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession."”

“Because in this sinful, selfish and self-centered world without a clear purpose in this life and without real hope for eternity, the apostle Paul can say, "I have been set apart to bring good news. And this good news is not mine but from God." This good news is not only for this life.”

In other words, we all we we need grace first and then we can be useful in the hands of God. God grace is the backbone of the gospel message.”

“Faith is action. Faith is something living and dynamic. Something that produces change and gives life. In other words, through faith in Christ produces obedience. The gospel is not something that we just know. The gospel is it it must be something that we live. the obedience of faith.”
