#GospelNewLife
“Your past may have described you as lost, hopeless, a drug addict, a gossip, self reliant, greedy, broken, washed up, damaged goods, an alcoholic, wounded, angry, controlling, of no use. But if you have encountered Jesus and you have given yourself to him, that is no longer who you are. The gospel changes everything. The gospel is the good news that Jesus died and rose again so that we can have a relationship with God, and he will give us new life in him.”

#BelongInChrist
“It's an invitation to his audience then, and it's an invitation to us today, An invitation to belong to him, to be set apart for him, to be called for his purpose, and to be a servant of him. When one knows that they belong, there comes a deep soul rest. You don't have to look anymore for your worth in outside things, you belong. Jesus says that you belong in his family. He says that you are set apart. You are called, and you are his servant. There's nothing better. Are you living into that reality today?”

#NoMoreLukewarmFaith
“Like I said, that picture in Revelation of Jesus standing at the door knocking is often used for evangelism, but in Revelation, that is used in Jesus' message to the church of Laodicea who had grown lukewarm. Do you hear that? It's for the church folk. It's for you and for me, for any of us who have led our own way and our own desires get a hold of our heart in bigger ways than Jesus. It's for those of us who have grown lukewarm in our relationship with Jesus and are coasting instead of being in hardcore pursuit of him.”

#FreedomAndSurrender
“Jesus has purchased our freedom from sin at a great cost, and because we love him, he we willingly surrender our lives to him. A servant of Jesus Christ recognizes Jesus as king and chooses to follow him, to love him, and to obey him. Rather than living for ourselves, we seek his will, die to selfish desires, and desire to honor him in everything we do. And just as masters cared for their servants, we can trust that Christ will faithfully provide for all our needs as we follow him.”

#AllInForJesus
“Being a servant of Christ means absolute devotion, obedience, and submission to God. When Paul says that he is a servant of Christ Jesus, he is not messing around. He is not one foot in and one foot out. He is all in. He understands that the son of God gave his life for him. And out of the deep awe of Jesus and appreciation for Jesus and love for Jesus, Paul is willing to give everything for Jesus. I am no longer my own, but yours, Jesus.”

#WillingSlaveForJesus
“But when he encountered Jesus, he recognized that all of that paled in comparison to following Jesus. The original word for servant in Romans one one actually means slave. But because of the negative connotations that go with that word, bible translations often use the word servant. The word servant doesn't fully capture the meaning of a slave, though. In Paul's day, some slaves loved their masters so much that they willingly chose to remain with him even when they were free to leave. That's the picture Paul is using when he calls himself a servant of Christ.”

#NoNeutralGround
“We cannot deny it because it is what scripture clearly says, but there will be a time when the righteous will be separated from the wicked. In other words, there are only two ways to go in this life. You follow Jesus or you don't. There's no neutral. There's no middle ground. If you have said yes to Jesus and you are his follower, righteousness is credited to you. That, like, gets me every time I read that. His righteousness is credited to you.”

#RighteousByGrace
“That, like, gets me every time I read that. His righteousness is credited to you. If you're a follower of Jesus, you don't have to worry about which camp you fall in. You're in the righteous camp, not because of anything you did, but because of what Jesus It is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourself. It is a gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. It is by Jesus and Jesus alone that we are seen as righteous in God's sight. Hallelujah. Right?”
