#JesusIntercedes
“Jesus always lives to intercede. See, John 17 is not just a prayer that Jesus prayed once on this dark evening two thousand years ago for the disciples. We are entered into the heart of Jesus in a prayer that Jesus prays still to this day for his people. That Jesus is praying for the people of God in the presence of God, interceding on our behalf, that the race that began with him, that he finished his race, that the baton that was passed off would continue to be passed. See, he ascended. He took the right hand of the seat of God, and he lives to pray for you.”

#LetScriptureFormYou
“He was set apart for death so we could be set apart for life. And so when we read the Bible, when we sit in it, we need to learn to let it correct us, right, to form us. It doesn't really matter what I think. It doesn't really matter what you think. It really doesn't matter at all. What matters is, what does God think? And have I really learned to sit under in a way that I come in, not from my critical lens of the world and the ways that I see things, but say, god, help me to see what you see. Help me to understand who you are, and help me understand who I am to you. That is what he's inviting us to, that we are secure in him, that we are set apart by him, and then lastly, that we are sent by him. Look at verse 18.”

#GraceNotWithdrawal
“Because he says it's not your job to secure. It's the father's job. But I don't think a lot of us really believe that. We say we do, but how do we often live? When when things get hard or we make mistakes or or we kinda hit a rough patch, often our first initial response is to actually withdraw from God. Why? Because we think we've disappointed him. We think that he's looking at us and thinking, man, you just need to clean yourself up. I've seen it time and time again. People leave the church because they feel like they need to fix themselves up before they can go to church, which is crazy to think about. But if we understand what Jesus is saying here, the opposite is the beautiful picture of the gospel. Your security does not rest on your shoulders. It rests on the father's.”
