Jesus answered them and said most assuredly I say to you you seek me not because you saw the signs but because you ate of the loaves and were filled do not labor for the food which perishes but for the food which endures to everlasting life which the Son of Man will give you because God the Father has set his seal on him. [00:05:42]

God does not want your life to be focused on the material things in your life the same God who said give us this day our daily bread also told us man does not live by bread alone matter of fact this is the real focus of it look here at verse 27 Jesus says this do not labor for the food which perishes but for the food which endures for ever lasting life. [00:08:09]

Jesus says I am interested in a spiritual work and in a heavenly kingdom right here very plainly in this verse Jesus is making a contrast between material things and spiritual things friends it is almost universally true that people are more attracted to material things than they are to spiritual things. [00:09:08]

Jesus answered and said to them this is the work of God that you believe in him whom he sent the friends just a verse prior to that in verse 27 Jesus told them do not labor for the food which perishes they used the same word speaking back to Jesus and they said well how are we going to labor for this. [00:12:36]

This is the work of God that you believe in him whom he sent do you want to please God this is where please and God begins believing on Jesus Christ God the son whom God the Father hasn't put your trust in him I hope that this principle can liberate some lives here this morning I believe it can. [00:13:18]

What kind of labor do you want us to do Jesus and she says you want to talk about Labor I'll tell you what kind of work to do verse 29 this is the work of God that you believe in him whom he sent do you want to please God this is where please and God begins believing on Jesus Christ. [00:13:18]

Jesus said to them most assuredly I say to you Moses did not give you the bread from heaven but my father gives you the true bread from heaven for the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world did you notice how they begin their third little question here in verse 30. [00:16:31]

Jesus is trying to lift their minds above the material and have them think about spiritual things and eternal things this is really an important theme through our whole message today are you gonna live your life focused only on the material or will you seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness. [00:19:15]

Jesus said to them I am the bread of life he who comes to me shall never hunger and who believes in Me shall never thirst but I said to you that you've seen me and yet do not believe all that the father gives me will come to me and the one who comes to me I will by no means cast out. [00:20:33]

We know that a person can be full in their stomach rich in their bank account and healthy in their body and have an empty tragic soul matter fact I wonder if we don't have a little more on that in Santa Barbara then in the population at large in our state or in our country. [00:22:57]

Jesus says you come to me and you'll never hunger that's what he's said in verse 35 in verse 37 he says listen I'm gonna receive everybody who comes to me all that the father gives me will come to me and the one who comes to me I will by no means cast out nobody has come to Jesus and been rejected by him. [00:23:41]

Because of Jesus is very unique connection with God we can put our trust in him we can come to him knowing that the father sent us sent him and that the father draws us what we could be grateful for every sign that God sends our way and that we can live in the spirit and friends we can lift our hearts in our minds and we can live for more than material things. [00:27:54]
