Like children at camp who traded grumbling for awe, we’re called to reframe our vision. Joy hides not in perfect circumstances but in choosing to see God’s fingerprints on ordinary moments. But you see the followers of Jesus who had the incredible opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit for the first time on that first Pentecost, they woke up each and every day to focus on the promise of Jesus. They expected Jesus to keep his word. They expected the Holy Spirit to show up, And with an attitude of expectations of faith and knowing that God keeps God's words, they had hearts that were open and minds that were open, and they were ready to receive an incredible blessing, an incredible gift. And on that first Pentecost, we are told that tongues like fire descended on them, and the sound of a violet wind came from heaven and filled the house where they were waiting.
