41s
“That's a word of love and grace. There's someone who needs to hear this. And if you're still seeing dimly, that's okay. Peter is giving us a pass. He's saying that this may not be instantaneous. But do not thwart the work of the Holy Spirit. Do not do whatever you can while God so deeply desires for you to know the grace of God. No one is ever so lost that Jesus cannot find you.”
47s
“Jesus received Peter's testimony and patiently loved him for those three years all the way to the cross and then welcomed him. And by the spirit, he was encouraged to proclaim the resurrected Christ. So the triumph god is truly at work among us that we may see Jesus at least a little bit more than we did as God continues to work in us, to cleanse the lenses of our hearts and minds, to allow us to trust in the scriptures to be that lens to know and love God more deeply.”
56s
“Peter had the gift of being able to be transparent and yet to share how God used him in an amazing way. Faithful preaching affirms that by the working of the Holy Spirit, the resurrected Christ is seen. Christ is revealed to us and sends us out to those who are blinded to faith that they may indeed behold and extend the presence of Jesus himself. Who is Jesus to you? And what can you say about Jesus that is affirming? That's a word of love and grace. There's someone who needs to hear this. And if you're still seeing dimly, that's okay. Peter is giving us a pass.”
