Immersing ourselves requires intentional movement – not waiting for a spiritual wave to crash over us, but stepping into the current of God’s presence. This daily choice to "dip in" awakens us to the Spirit’s guidance, power, and refreshing. Like Ezekiel’s river deepening progressively, our surrender determines how thoroughly we’re submerged. The invitation isn’t to observe the water, but to let it carry us into the Father’s purposes. [15:36]

“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive.”

Paul calls the Ephesian believers back to the solid ground of what God has already done in Christ. God chose His people before the foundation of the world, blessed them with every spiritual blessing, and brought them into His family through Jesus. God’s adoption is not a monthly subscription that can be cancelled when performance fails. Jesus paid the price for eternity, and God adopts His children according to His pleasure and will. Pride has no place where every believer stands by the same grace. Intimacy with God grows as God’s children simply sit in His presence, enjoy Him, and ask His light to permeate their lives.

The sponge image exposes what comes out when life squeezes a person. God’s presence fills His children so that offense, ego, and anger do not have the final word. Redemption through Christ’s blood buys people out of sin, shame, guilt, and bondage. God does not give a pinch of grace but lavishes superabundant, overflowing grace on those who surrender to Jesus.
