#CommunityForgiveness
“The next time that Jesus appeared, Thomas' self oriented oriented faith disappeared. That's through the grace of the holy spirit. He came to faith at last precisely because he was with the gathering community as imperfect as it was. So Jesus gave the disciples the power to forgive sins. This great privilege was not for the relief of individual sinners. The power to forgive sins was for the good of the community.”

#ChurchCommunityMatters
“What he wanted was a believing community that would leave that upper room and be brave enough to come out of hiding if they truly believed in the risen Christ and Christ's mercy. People would come to believe in the risen Christ through their experience in the believing community. Now one of the most common things said by those claiming to be Christians yet not belonging to a church community is, I don't have to go to church to pray. While this may be true, the reality is that a person cannot be a Christian as Jesus intended unless that person is a member of the Christian church.”
