“real reason I don't like this first is because I like doing that thing. Yeah, that's the hedonistic. And this one is becoming increasingly a a compelling factor among especially young Christians especially young Christians at university, and that is the social stigma. That verse is kind of embarrassing. If I if my friends found out, I thought that verse was true. I'd be it would be my social death. I'd be mocked and reviled and beer cans thrown at me. Because it's a social thing. I'm okay with it, but I can't admit that I think that's an okay verse. So you have a social impediment. You have a hedonistic those are, by far and away, those are the biggest it's hardly ever truly an intellectual discussion. But Jesus says and I love this. This is one translation. Stop complaining about what I said. Very simple, isn't it? Yeah. But I don't really like it. Yeah, you don't have to like it. But I did say it.”

“Did God really say you must not eat? Come on. He cracks me up with the stuff he comes up with. We've known each other a long time. He does this stuff, man. He's messed up. So, that's what happens. I desire. I really want this bad. There's scripture standing away. Let me discredit the scripture. It was probably added, probably some fat, sweaty monk, in some abbey somewhere. Yeah. And then you discard it. You've raised sufficient doubt. Now go for it. And this is the pattern of so many previous bible believers like I used to believe, but now I really want that thing. I want that sin. I want that pleasure. And I'm just gonna question the scripture, then I can move on. Not that simple, pal. But here's a short history.”

“So, the morons are the ones who are like, that doesn't make sense to me. Of course, that doesn't make sense to you, jerk. These people are infinitely way smarter than you. Okay. You can all see this coming down Allegory Highway, can't you? Yeah. So, this is exactly the situation. I hear otherwise rational people tell me, That verse doesn't make sense to me, so I don't think it's in there. I don't think it belongs. Why do you think it should make sense to you? It was brought to us by the supreme being of the universe, who created everything. I think he has a slight edge over you, IQ wise. Okay? The supreme being. It's amazing that we understand any of it. Or what I think I understand is, like, I think there should be way more things that don't make any sense to me. But somehow, we're like, we can expect there are going to be things that don't make sense to you. You know what? You do them anyway, because he knows more than you. He's the supreme being.”

“I like to put that up. There it is. Okay. If you just want the Bible to stay away from your life, then no argument will suffice. I could go all day long, and you're not gonna be budged by that, You just don't want the scriptures around. If, however, you are sincerely bothered by the possibility that someone slipped extra stuff in there or took away inconvenient truths, and you want to know the truth, then continue. You can usually sort out most people on this count. I've had people like, I would believe in God, but I just have too many questions. And I get excited. Like, oh, it's an intellectual problem. So, I think, so if I were able to answer your questions, will you turn to Jesus? it's really not about those questions, is it? Quit lying to yourself.”
