Whatever dark place you might be in, when you open up his book with a humble learner's heart, it draws the holy teacher to come alongside you and light the path forward, to show you the truth, the unshakable truth. You are loved. You're forgiven. You're Christ forever, and he's gonna get you home. If you're in the midst of a dark night, take heart. [00:46:24] (41 seconds)  #OpenHisWordHope Download clip

Identify a place in your life where maybe you're in the midst of a snowstorm of confusion. Maybe it's your finances, your anxiety. Often, it's a relationship where you don't know what to do, how to respond, in this place, get alone with Jesus. Open up his word. Allow for his spirit to come and illumine the way. Find a promise. Find a thought that lifts from its pages and thrills your soul, captivates your mind, and meditate on it until the light, until the star dawns in you. He goes back to the transfiguration. He says, I was there. I saw Jesus and peeled back from his humanity. I saw heaven pouring into his skin. I heard the voice, not a feeling in my heart, but an audible voice from the majesty of heaven declaring, this is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased. Listen to him. We can stand on the fact. And when we do that, we can't help but be a light. And in a world full of darkness, Jesus' command to us is, don't keep your light under a bushel basket. Let it shine. Let his love, his truth, his presence, his goodness shine upon you, in you, through you. [00:53:03] (33 seconds)  #LetYourLightShine Download clip

I mean, if we're going to bet our lives, our ethics, our eternity on something, We don't want a map that someone just guessed at. We want a satellite photo. We wanna know, is this truth? Not my truth, your truth, but the truth. Is Jesus Christ who he says he is? Is there anyone who actually saw something? [00:32:19] (43 seconds)  #TruthOverOpinion Download clip

You don't just have to hold on to my eyewitness testimony as powerful as that is. He's saying, you too can have a moment of transfiguration. And he begins to unlock moments of transfiguration we can have when the glory of who Jesus Christ is gets revealed to us. It doesn't just happen on the mountaintop where Peter saw Jesus' glory transfigured. It happens, when we open up the scriptures. [00:35:37] (51 seconds)  #TransfiguredByScripture Download clip

He describes this as a lamp shining in a dark place. It's a shining of the spotlight on Jesus. That's what the word of god is. And it shines on Jesus who is the good shepherd who will lead us home, who will get us through all of the challenges and trials and tribulations in this world, who will make us lie down, who will lead us to still waters, who will guide us down the right paths, who will be with us in those dark valleys, who will get us to that place where our enemies will see us, those who deny the truth of who he is and mock us for holding on to him. The writers held the pen, but the spirit provided the breath, and that's why we can trust it. It's not a human map. It's a divine GPS. And Peter gives us an imperative. He says, you do well to pay attention to it as to a light shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. [00:42:05] (39 seconds)  #DivineGPS Download clip
