“This isn't just another book. God has spoken. He is trustworthy. He teaches us. He corrects us. He trains us. He equips us. So just don't own the word. My church, my friends, my brothers and sisters. Know the word. And note, just know the word. Live the word. And don't just live the word. Love the world the word. Because you see this morning, the world is full of voices, and there's only one voice we need to know. There's only one voice we need to understand. There's only one voice we need to listen to, and that's the voice of God and the voice of God. You need no other voice but the voice of God.”

“This the third thing Paul's talking about is correction. The wonderful thing about the scripture, it's not just telling me I'm wrong, but it tells me how to get back. This is different than reproof. Reproof says something is wrong. Correction says, here's how to make it right. And that's the grace of God. God's not exposing us to shame us. God exposing us to restore us. That he wants us to be restore we he wants us to be in right relationship with him.”

“Not that God wants us to win bible trivia. Not that just so you can be filled with more information and you can try to impress me or other people of the church or somebody else or not because we need Christians just to sound smarter, but because you cannot be deeply formed by a word you barely know. Right. You can't be formed by this if you don't know it, and that's back to the heart of discipleship.”
