And in that moment, as Stephen's being pushed to his limit, being questioned and facing relational conflict, I would imagine everything in him, I mean, this is how I would react, wanted to convince the church members. Like, let me give you the top three reasons why I'm right. Right? And I'm gonna I'm gonna give you this fresh, trendy three part sermon with all these new revelations and insights, and you're gonna believe. Nope. The Holy Spirit pulled out of him scripture. Stephen preached scripture to a bunch of people that know scripture. There was nothing magical. There was nothing new, fresh. He talked about Abraham and Joseph and Moses and Jesus. It just overflowed out of him. [00:48:15] (54 seconds)  #ScriptureOverStyle Download clip

If you say yes to to Jesus as your savior, then you have the same spirit living inside of you today that Stephen did. Maybe he can make my skin glow. That'd be nice. Right? That same holy spirit, he's gonna teach you and remind you too. You don't have to have all the right things to say or how to know how to share the love of Jesus with your friends. You just need to be willing to open the Bible in your daily 20 to spend some time with the Holy Spirit. Let him teach you and remind you of the truth. Take it off the pressure. We're making it too complicated. [00:50:52] (40 seconds)  #LetTheSpiritTeach Download clip

Every Sunday, this right here, this is a wedding, you guys. When I'm talking about that relational spectrum, this is the wedding. This is the gathering of the people that love Jesus. It's a celebration of Jesus and his bride. Right? Like but Monday through Saturday, it's everyday life. It's those one on ones, those small groups, the the place of real discipleship. And it all starts with your time in scripture. The more you spend getting to know God and asking him to teach you and remind you through his spirit, the more you'll find natural ways to have conversations. The more those opportunities will present themselves to meet people in their hopes and hurts. And you won't need to stress out stress about it. It'll just naturally pour out of you like it did for the woman in ALDI while we're talking about celery juice. Right? [01:07:27] (53 seconds)  #WeekdayDiscipleship Download clip

You go out and you make disciples in those twos and threes, in coffee shops, and on bleachers, and in break rooms, and in fitness centers, and at the dining room table. And you meet with that that physical neighbor that you have or that coworker or that friend that you've known forever. And I think sometimes, at least it does for me, fear stops us. I know I've had friends that I am afraid to talk about my faith with, because I'm worried about what to say, how to say it. I have a fear of being viewed negatively or that I'll just lose them altogether. Right? [00:41:48] (41 seconds)  #TwosAndThreesDiscipleship Download clip

I bet his face glowed like Moses when he would come down from the mountain or like Jesus when he was up on the mountain during the transfiguration. And I've tried. I've tried to make my skin glow with a lot of skin care. K? It doesn't I can't do it. I can't make it glow. And I'm sure Stephen couldn't either. He wasn't trying to make his skin glow, but that just means that when we read that part of the passage, it means that the Holy Spirit was active enough that it was physically seen to these people. Right? He's teaching through Stephen. [00:47:37] (39 seconds)  #SpiritGlow Download clip

We sit here in church, we pray, and we ask God to turn these dead things into living things in us. And so for whatever fear is blocking you from not having conversations with people in your everyday lives, God wants to bury that fear and bring out confidence in you to get to know the people in your everyday circles, to partner with him, to spread his love, his story. And we don't have the power to resurrect that in ourselves. We can say that we're really confident, and some people have that in their personality. But God does have that in him in you. so that you can be the best teacher like God has called you to be, so that you can you can reach the people at your job at the bank. I didn't need to recite a bunch of scripture to her. I could just speak truth into her. She's fearfully and wonder wonderfully made. Her body's designed for her to carry her calling. I may be able to encourage her in that calling, right, through through whatever I've been learning about her. All I did was take what God's been teaching me through scripture. I identified her hopes and hurts, and I spoke truth into those places. So over over the next few weeks, we're gonna be talking more about these conversations, how to have them. But what I want you to focus on today is starting in scripture. Use it to connect you to Jesus, and then let it teach you. Let the Holy Spirit grow you and use your stories to pour into the people in your everyday life. [00:56:16] (60 seconds)  #StartInScripture Download clip

I loved that Aaron pulled out some some passages from Paul. Right? Like, he had so much against him. The enemy wants to stop the spread of the gospel. He's gonna make it hard on you. So Stephen's sermon didn't change their minds, but it did glorify God. And his love for God flowed out of them even to death, and that made him just like Jesus. Right? Willing to sacrifice his earthly life for the people in front of him to hear the words, to speak without fear. Coming off Easter, we've talked a lot about Jesus. We've talked about his death, his resurrection, and we now have this hope of eternal life. Right? But what about right now? What about today?
