#ResistTemptation
“``And you look at it and think, man, what a what a wonder. Like, I would love just to sit down there and and pet a lion. But the truth remains, if I was to go in that lion's den, what would happen? I don't stand a chance. They would devour me. They would eat me. I would be second breakfast. is the same thing. Satan's temptation oh, man. It looks good. Man, I I I would love to pet that. I would love to dabble in that. And the truth still remains, though. If you play with that, if you fall into that temptation, what's gonna happen? It's gonna devour you. It's gonna destroy you because that is what Satan seeks to do, seeks to devour you. So verse eight, it told you to do something. What did it tell you to do? sober minded. It says, don't forget. That temptation might look good, but it has one purpose and one purpose only. Not to make you feel good, to destroy you. Its purpose is to destroy you.”

#PrideLeadsToDownfall
“Satan's downfall was his pride. That's what he chose. Just like the characters from the introduction, that tragic story, they became prideful which then led to their tragic end and led to their downfall. Satan is just like that. Actually, he's the original one of just like that. Pride was his doom. Isaiah 14 verse 13, it said, you said in your heart, I will ascend. I will set my throne. I will ascend above. Ezekiel verse 17 said, you were proud in your heart. And even though Satan is not a a created human, he's a different being. He's not like you or me, but he gives us a caution that if you surrender, if you turn to pride, there will be destruction in your life just like he experienced. You will have a downfall. So it's a warning to every single one of us. Pride will be your doom.”

#StewardYourFaith
“And for you to consider your life, Are you being responsible? God has told you, woe woe to you for the devil has come, and he wants to bring great wrath against you. But his time is short. God has given you promises and truth that if you put on his armor, you will stand firm. If you will be sober minded, if you stay alert and resist, the devil will flee. If you mature in Christ, you will have the greatest tools, the mind of Christ and the fruit of the spirit, the greatest weapons to fight against evil. And God's word tells you that he has given you a community that will stir you to love and good works, actions that will combat evil and Satan. My question to you, are you being responsible with what God has given you?”

#TogetherInFaith
“The day the war is over. We're waiting for that, eagerly waiting for that day. But in the meantime, we have to fight and to help us fight Satan as we wait for that day, we gather together for worship at church. We gather together to challenge each one spiritually. We gather together to study the scripture together. We gather together to pray for one another. And when we do these things because of the presence of us together, it stirs us to what? It said to love and good works. How do we stir ourselves to love and good works, which is fighting the enemy? We come together. You know, Satan wants to isolate you, but God commands you to community.”

#SubmitToJesus
“That's telling us that when we submit, when we surrender ourselves to god, temptation becomes easier and easier to flee. Why? Be because when I submit, that means I'm not living for my lordship. I'm living under the lordship of Christ. I'm living under his authority. So what I do, what I say is directed and led by Jesus. So when temptations come my way, I can easily flee that because I have surrendered to God. I'm not living for myself. Satan's temptations can't affect me because it's not about me. It's about Jesus.”

#PrideLeadsToPublicFall
“I can't say that enough. If you are prideful, god will lead you to destruction there and and and here's the secret with this that kind of blew my mind this morning or this week is that your destruction, it won't be private. It will be public. If you are prideful, your downfall will be known by others. You know, Jesus said that he saw Satan fall from heaven. In Luke chapter 10 verse 18, Jesus said, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Satan's downfall wasn't a secret. Jesus saw it. We all know about it. Every single person's heard about Satan's fall from heaven. And that same truth is for you and me. If you are a prideful person, your downfall will not be private. It will be public. Others will know because pride goes before destruction. So I just caution you. If you've allowed pride to enter into your heart, you will be destroyed, and it will be public. You will fall.”

#FightDailyInFaith
“God doesn't desire for you to be bound by sin and by Satan. He wants you to be free. To experience his freedom, we have to follow his son. So this is what I want to do. I know my time is short, but I want us to spend a time of prayer, just you on your own, where you are thinking about your responsibilities. Because the day that you're living is is the already not yet. Jesus has already won, but we don't experience that victory yet. So you have to live every single day fighting your greatest adversary, Satan. And the way that you do that is by fulfilling your responsibility. Are you putting on the armor of God, staying alert, resisting, maturing in Christ, fighting in community?”

#SuitUpInArmorOfGod
“We have the helmet of salvation protecting the mind from despair and gives us assurance of our identity in Jesus. We don't we don't have doubts or question who we are. We believe and we know who we are. We have the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. And we use that to counter falsehoods just like Jesus did when he was tempted in the desert by Satan. What did he do? Did he use his fist? No. He used scripture to fight against Satan. He used the word of God, the sword. So we put on our spiritual armor.”
