Christ has stood in the space between. Christ has carried guilt, shame, and sin to the cross, crushed the serpent’s head, and set His people free from sin, death, and the grave. The issue is not whether people can be like David. The issue is whether they recognize their desperate need for the greater David. Christ’s victory is certain, His sacrifice is sufficient, and all who hold fast to Him share in His eternal victory.
