#BeSaltBeLight
“So how do we live our lives as a lamp that shines and salt that seasons? You don't. You're not light because of what you do. Light just shows up. Salt just is. And it changes everything around. You know the cool thing about salt? If there's the right amount of salt on something, you don't taste the salt. you're just being salt in the world, People aren't even seeing you. They're experiencing him through you.”

#LightJustIs
“And what I have noticed is I've noticed too many Christians are like, I'm just trying to be light, then you're doing it wrong. Light doesn't have to try. It just is. I don't go to a room in my house and flip a switch, and all of a sudden, I hear the light bulbs going, trying produce light. I flip the switch and light just If you're in a completely dark room and somebody, strikes a match, everybody in the room automatically looks toward the light because light just is. You can go ahead and cut those lights back on.”

#BeSaltShaker
“Attitude matters. I've been in churches where well meaning new believers would come. And the attitude of Christians who had been in the faith for a long time completely and totally turned them off. And when they were asked, well, why can I ask why you won't come back? They would go, well, this was said. Hey, listen. Can I can I be pastor Chuck for just a moment? Man, if that's you, please stop. Well, I just didn't agree with how they lived their life. That's okay. You don't have to agree. Pray for them. But if you if you're a salt gun and not a salt shaker, keep your mouth shut. I love you, but come on. Let your life be a constant seasoning of God, not an assault gun.”

#GraceAndTruth
“The issue is is there are behavioral changes. There are lifestyle changes that will and should take place after conversion. However, that and the speed at which those changes take place are up to him, not to me. My responsibility is to present both grace and truth. And when I live my life balancing with grace and truth, ultimately, he can do his job much better than I would ever be able to.”

#FromTryingToBeing
“And from that point on, although I didn't know it at the moment, I can't tell you the number of years I've tried to be liked and I've tried to be salt. But in that moment, his light moved on to the inside of me, and I became the light of the world. I became of the earth. And from that moment on, I didn't have to try. I just had to be.”

#RestInHisWord
“but on a normal basis, I don't have to try. Why? Because that's a that's just a part of who I am. You are the light of the world. Jesus said it. You go, well, you know what? I just don't feel like light right now. Then if you don't feel like it, just rest on what he said. Let me ask you, does god lie? No. K. If we truly believe god doesn't lie, then we say we can trust him. We sang, we take you at your word until that word is about us. And they were like, well, he meant that for somebody else. Like, they some real light. I can see their light. I can't really see my light. No. No. No. Rest in him. He said, you are the light of the world. Right? If we would just start being who he said we are instead of trying who he said we are. we would find that it's much more natural.”

#BeTheSeasoning
“And the fact is, when you go out to eat today, you should be the most fun table in the restaurant. Now listen, don't be annoying. Here's a fine line. Here's a fine line. Right? choose to be the seasoning. What if God's asking you to be the seasoning in the restaurant today? What if God is calling you to be a preservative in a world full of decay? When everything else around you is deteriorating, they need to look at you and see your world just moving forward.”

#LiveEvidenceOfJesus
“The second thing he called us to be was he said he called us to be light. He called us to be light. Do you realize that in John chapter eight, Jesus said, I am, talking about himself, I am the light of the world. But in Matthew's sermon, he turns that around from I am the light of the world to are the light of the world. When we give our lives to him, he's a part of our lives. Hey, he is integrated within us. Right? Like, our lives should be evidence of Jesus.”
