#LightWithRelevance
“``You are the light of the world. You know, Daniel in the Old Testament, the bible says that he spoke the language of the Chaldeans, meaning he was the light of the world. He connected with the people he was connected to. But the bible says he never ate and drank. Here's the difference. If you eat what the world eats, you'll die from what the world's dying of. And yet he spoke the language because he wasn't some hidden person who had no desire to connect. His relevance put him in the conversation, but his revelation gave him something to say once he got into it. There's something about this dynamic that Jesus was trying to make it clear to us. Guys, be careful. You're the salt of this world, but guess what? I made you the light of the world, so go and change the world.”

#StaySalted
“And he's not saying be legalistic or weird or but there is an ability to influence. There is an ability to flavor. There is an ability to preserve. But God's giving us a key saying this distinctive of flavor and influence that salt has, it can be lost. And the good news is if you can lose it, you can certainly get it. You can certainly find it. But this is what I realized, that my label as a Christian changes nothing in a world that can't taste the Christ in me.”

#VocationIsMinistry
“He he's god of the whole planet. He's god of the whole world. Do you realize god is as interested in the bridge you're building and the meal you're cooking and the clothes you're designing and the garden you're attending and the sport you're playing and the business you're building as he is in the sermon I'm speaking? Do you realize God is invested in every part of who you are? You know if you are a believer, it means you are a minister. And if every believer's a minister, it means every vocation is a ministry.”

#ShineWithHumility
“Don't hide. Sunday is wonderful. It fuels you. It stirs you. It pours life into you. And then take that light out. He's just saying, just be careful. You're vulnerable. In other words, don't live careless or arrogant. But here's the challenge, and here's the tension, and here's where it really lands. Most of us are excited about one of those two. We got some people who are scared of the world because we are so scared we will lose our salvation. That's not what he wanted you to live like. And then there are others who just love the position. I'm the light of the world. I shouldn't be hidden. Put me on a lampstand. Give me a microphone. if if we preserve our saltiness, god will position our light.”
