#RunInGrace
“``And as a runner with his face set on Christ, Paul lets go of everything that hinders his running or gets in the way of his goal. He even dares to say the good things he knew in his former life that he used to value so highly are not worth comparing to what he has received from Christ. Paul says that we can reach the goal of being found in Christ. How? Because Christ has already made us his own. Christ calls us to follow him. Christ equips us to run the race. The track or the ground beneath our feet is grace.”

#WorshipReorients
“In worship, we're reminded of the limitations and the possibilities of human life. In worship, we discover our destiny in Christ. We learn to read our own story in the light of god's one big story of redeeming love. We learn the important lesson, guess what? We're not the center of the universe. When we do not worship god, our lives become diminished, our outlook narrows, we become captive to our own desires and illusions.”

#ServeTheStranger
“You might not think of of of serving as a spiritual discipline, but it is. Serving pushes us to leave those places where we're at ease, to enter those places that are unfamiliar, new, and challenging. For god meets us in the stranger. God meets us in the cracks and the crevices of life. We learn what it is and what life is like for an elderly person with no family. We learn what it is for a child who is just lost at school, for an immigrant who speaks another language, for an abused mother and children in need of shelter, or teenager with mental illness, a family with no food. God meets us in the rough places of life and teaches us how to be better and more compassionate people. And the more we give of ourselves to others, the more we grow in grace.”

#RunnersOfFaith
“Those who know god through a life of worship, a life of reading the bible and prayer, a life of giving and serving have an inner strength and inner spiritual compass. They're like runners poised to win a race. And from a distance, oh, it may look easy. For after all, the Christian life is a gift of God's grace. But the runners are disciplined. They've let go of everything that stands in the way. They press on towards the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
