#RunTowardHome
“``And here's where it's really easy to miss this. The running was never the point. The running looks impressive, the distance, the endurance and all that stuff. The crowd. But none of that mattered. The What mattered was that what was waiting for him, the place that was waiting for him to go, Hebrews 12 has been saying this same thing. It was never about how well I run or you run or how long we last. It's about where the race is taking us, the place. And verse 14 told us, peace, holiness, and seeing the lord. Maybe you're tired. Maybe you don't remember why you started this race. You don't have to keep running forever to prove something. You just have to keep running towards the place, towards home.”

#CorrectionNotRejection
“When life gets hard, is your first thought, has God left me or is God training That that is such an important distinction. Correction isn't rejection, it's redirection. Proof you belong to him. No evidence he's There is no evidence that he's left you. And so, the next question is, when you think of your of a sin you're carrying, are you sorry it cost you or are you sorry you did it? Sometimes we can get destroyed by the cost that our sin has in our lives. The the the circumstances that it our sin causes. We can be mad about that. But we won't be mad about that we actually did the sin. And so we need to evaluate that. It's easier to grieve what sin cost than to grieve sin itself. But only one of those leads to a change, to transformation.”

#TrainingNotPunishment
“Discipline is not punishment. We have to look like it. It's a it's a father shaping a child he loves towards maturity. But notice what my point says. It says discipline trains us, not just corrects us. Correction happens in a moment. We do something wrong, It's pointed out to us. It feels difficult at the moment, maybe even painful, but then it's over if we take it the right way. Training is different. Training is much different. It's ongoing. It's often uncomfortable. It's often fatigues our muscles and causes us to to to have to go further. It aims at who we are becoming, not who we are in the moment and not just what we did.”

#ShedWhatSlowsYou
“I don't know what weight or habitual sin is slowing you down this morning. I do know this, running free from it leads to an amazing life. Every Christian carries something, a weight, a reoccurring struggle trying to slow us all down. The question is never whether we have it or not, it's whether we identify name it, and lay it aside. So my sticky note for this this point is not everything is good for the race. We're called to lay some things that are good aside along with sin that lay weighs us down. Laying aside the weight is only beginning. Once we're we're free to run, God doesn't leave us out there alone. He he trains us to go further.”
