But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

Day 5: Building on the Rock When Storms Come

Storms test foundations. The man who survived cancer treatments and the parents burying their baby both discovered the same truth: survival depends on what you’re rooted in. Jesus isn’t a life raft for emergencies – He’s the bedrock for daily living. Like learning to back up a trailer through trial and error, faith grows strongest when winds expose shallow roots. Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
