#RadicalHospitality
“``And then people are dying for this. And, like, I just say all that because in our culture, like, that's not really what this is, and we still have a hard time living it. And Paul is like, this these people, this is where they are. Right? They open their home. They sacrifice their comfort. They risk their safety. They invested in other people. They invested in lives to build the kingdom of heaven. They went out of their way to care about people who didn't care about them. That's what they did to stand on the truth for Christ's sake. This is what great love looks like. This is what a church looks like. This is what it's supposed to be.”

#FaithOverStatus
“No. He's like, look. It's not her social standings. It's not her wealth. It's not her influence. What is it what is it I commend her to you? Her relationship with Jesus. Our sister in Christ, a servant in the church. The church is not a religious organization. The church is a family redeemed by the blood of Christ. This is what he identifies. It's not, oh, I go to church. I'm gonna go to heaven because I go to CCV. So many comments to make in so little time. We gotta move forward. You guys know all of them. Just think about for a second. Anyway, he reminds us that every believer this is the whole entire thing. Every believer, regardless of background, has equal standing before god through Jesus Christ, starting with his sister Phoebe.”

#FaithfulnessCounts
“Why? Because they really lived a Christian life. And I wanna tell you this because, like, this is so rare that you actually come across a person that this is their lifestyle. What is their lifestyle? All of the scripture. But this is actually what we should be. This should because God's paying attention. Faithfulness matters to God. It might not matter to the world, but look. God's looking at it, he's like, these people deserve mention. Why do they deserve mention? All these people, all the scripture, all the stuff is getting saved. All the people in all the world who've who've moved forward, but even at the time of Paul. These people deserve mention because they're faithful. Because all the doctrine that was given, all the theology that we've covered, that's what their life was about, and it mattered. It didn't just matter to Paul. It mattered to God. So under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, God's like, thank these people. Yeah. Because they're really about this.”

#ServeNotSelf
“The gospel produces people that stop asking, what's in it for me? And instead, what they say is, who can I serve? How can I help? Right? How can I glorify Christ today? What is it that I can do to edify someone else? It's a crazy thing when you if you really get this when you really get this I hope you really get this throughout the chapter, by the way. Paul honors all these people as laborers and all this stuff, but it's really cool. Right? If you really get this stuff, you'll understand this. I can take care of everyone else without concern for myself because God takes care of me. And you know what? God's better at taking care of me than I am at taking care of me. In fact, everywhere in my life where I've gotten into trouble I don't know about you, but I'm speaking for me personally right now. Everyone in life where I've gotten in trouble, it's because I I came up with a plan, and I came up with a solution, and I came up with a a method, and I came up with a system, and I came up with you know what? That doesn't work.”
