#WakeUpChurch
“A smoke alarm doesn't prevent fire. It warns you before it's too late. And this text here in Romans 13 is God's spiritual smoke detector. And Paul isn't saying the house is already burned down. He's sounding the alarm. He's saying wake up. The day is at hand. Wise people don't get angry at the smoke detector. They get out of bed and rescue their loved ones. I don't know if you've ever been there when you're cooking something, you left something on the stove, and the smoke detector is going off. That is what Paul is telling the Romans to his people. That is what we pastors and as churches are trying to tell the church, wake The time of God is at hand, kairos. Right? When you hear rumors of wars, when you see famine, when you see when you hear about earthquakes, what are you and I supposed to do? We're supposed to look what? Look up, not look down.”

#TruthInLove
“``Modern culture says this, if you love me, you'll offer me. Biblical love says this, if I love you, I'll tell you the truth with grace. Ephesians four fifteen says, speak in the truth in love. Love is not sentiment. Love seeks another person's highest good. Love is active restraint and proactive good. If you genuinely love your neighbor, you will not cover not covet his house, steal his spouse, destroy his reputation with gossip and take his life.”

#LoveIsDebt
“Again, just owe no man anything. That means don't be indebted to someone because you took out a loan. Pay them back. Be a good Christian. Pay them back with interest if if need be, unless they forgive you. But continuing on in verse eight, it says, owe no man anything. There's an exception clause here. Notice what Paul tells us, to love one another. If you're taking notes, the word love there is agape. Love is a debt that where you can pay the monthly installment today, but the principal balance remains a 100 percent due tomorrow morning. You and I ought to love within the body of Christ on a daily basis. Because why? That's what we're what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to pay the love debt, to speak.”

#ScriptureOverFeelings
“love, keep in mind, does not lower God's standard. Let me say this. We have to make sure that when it comes to God's standard, our definition of love regarding emotions should not lower the standard of God's principles. Okay? Because why? I always say this to my family, facts never follow feelings but feelings will eventually follow facts. So make sure that your love based upon is upon scriptures, not upon, you know you know, emotional feeling bubbles or what I so God's standard is here. You keep it here. You never lower lower God's standard so that you feel better about it. God's standard's here, so you keep it up here, and you gotta bring your standards up. Now, real biblical love never excuses sin.”
