#ActiveResurrection
“Rolling these and so many other kinds of stones away makes us active participants in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because as he reminded us a few chapters earlier in Matthew, whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me. You know the difference between how it feels to just be passively watching something you already know about versus actively participating in something new. Christ has given you the opportunity through his resurrection to roll new stones away in his name each and every day with the same promise he gave the Marys so many years ago.”

“But take the scale down from a real rocket to a toy rocket. From a tomb sized stone to say, a stone of loneliness that could be lightened by your presence, living out Jesus words where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am too. Or a stone of injustice that could be alleviated by your advocacy on behalf of someone that you may not even know as you live out Jesus words to proclaim liberty to the captives. Or a stone of hard heartedness that could be softened by your compassion, by your peacemaking, following Jesus' words to love one another as he has loved you.”
