44s
“``And I'm telling you, when you make refuge a verb, not just theological concept, but when you go to God and you empty yourself to God, your fears, your insecurities, your doubts, your hopes, and your dreams, and then you allow God to fill you up with his security and his confidence and his guidance and his power and his protection. You can go into the day. You can go into the week with blessed assurance because the boundary lines have fallen for you in pleasant places. God, you alone are what life is about. You are my one thing.”
41s
“Understand that a shake free life is not the result of your personal grittiness. A shake free life doesn't come from your own strength or your own self will, but a shake free life comes from having god as the guide of your raft in life where you're keeping your eyes on the guide with him at your right hand, I will not be shaken. Then David goes on to say the second thing that will happen. Not only will I not be shaken, but since he's at my right hand, like, my heart is glad.”
43s
“And when we take refuge, what that means is we actually go to God for protection. And we empty ourselves out to God so that we can be filled up by God. We empty ourselves out so that we can be filled up so then we go into our day or into the week ahead with our confidence and our security and our significance and our protection coming from God in us, not just our own strength or self will. And so David starts off this passage by saying, keep me safe, oh God, for in you, I'm gonna practice taking refuge. I'm gonna make refuge a verb.”
40s
“what I love about this part of the passage is king David is saying, I have figured out my one thing. He says, lord, you alone are my portion and my cup. Like, you are my one thing. Like, everything in life, like, orients around that. You're not just like what I try to make the priority. You're the center of it all. You are my one thing. It reminds me of another passage in the scriptures that said, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And what happens? Everything else will be added unto you.”
