#LamentToGod
“``This is what the bible shows us about lament. Lament is not turning away from God. It is bringing an unbearable heart to God. The stomach did not take rev revenge into his own hands. Instead, he brought his anger and his wounds and poured them out before God. God is not only God who receives our joyful praise, God also welcomes our sorrows, our anger, our sense of injustice. We can bring all of it before God.”

#GodWelcomesTears
“So beloved church family, my beloved sisters and brothers, did you come here today carrying a sorrow you have not been able to anyone about? Is there something in your heart that you cannot even explain? Then remember this, God does not turn away from our tears. So you do not have to explain everything today. You do not have to figure everything Just come to the Lord as you are and say, Lord, this is my heart. You know where I am. Our sorrow, our sadness may be deep, but it will never be deeper than God's love for us. Our words may fail, but the spirit does not.”

#HolySpiritIntercedes
“When our words run out, the spirit does not. The spirit knows us more deeply than we know ourselves. And this intersection does not stop with the spirit. Hebrew chapter seven verse 25 tells us that Jesus Christ always leaves to intercede for us. Even when our prayer stops, Christ's intercession for us does not. So beloved church family, my beloved sisters and brothers, did you come here today carrying a sorrow you have not been able to anyone about? Is there something in your heart that you cannot even explain? Then remember this, God does not turn away from our tears. So you do not have to explain everything today.”

#BringItRawToGod
“I mean, they bring their anger, their grief, and their desire for justice before God without trying to clean it up first. I mean, the psalmist does not hide his deepest emotions and desire before God. He does not wait until his feelings are under control before coming to God. He simply comes as he is. In a sense, he's saying, God, this is what is inside me right now. This is my anger. This is my pain. This is what the bible shows us about lament. Lament is not turning away from God. It is bringing an unbearable heart to God.”
