#LoveOverLiberty
“``And exercising a liberty doesn't make you mature, and abstaining from a liberty, it doesn't make you holy. And here's the application if you need it. That just because something isn't inherently sinful, it doesn't mean that I should exercise my freedom without considering its effect on somebody else. Because love is what is to govern what I do with my liberty. That is the issue. Not, can I do this? How far can I go? Can I try that? Can I experience this? Well, I like to do the that that's not the issue. The issue is not you wanting to to exercise your freedoms. The issue is is that if you exercise your freedom, what is it doing to your other brothers and sisters? That's the issue. That's the main thrust.”

#UseTruthWithLove
“Don't don't be the person who is technically correct like they were right here in this. Technically, they're correct. But they were spiritually careless with others. Let me put it down into this bucket. You'll see it on the screen. Spiritual maturity isn't measured only by how much truth you know. It's revealed by how lovingly you use the truth that God gives you. And that's important for us. It's important for us to hang on to that.”

#HelpNotHurt
“What do I do with my Christian freedom when my freedom affects someone else? That's the topic that is at hand right there. When my freedom affects somebody else, the choices that I make, the liberties that I have in Christ, when they impact somebody else, what do I do with them? And Paul takes this conversation, and he he moves it away from simply asking a very common question, a common a question that I'm sure is in this this room many times over. Am I allowed to do this? Is it okay with the Bible if I do that? You know, how far can I go in this particular area? You know, these are these are things that we wanna know. It's like, well, I wanna be a good Christian, but I but I need to know what God has said about these particular things. Well, Paul takes that conversation, and he moves it on to a more mature question, and that is, is what I'm doing helping or hurting somebody else? And that's the big deal, my friends. It's a massive deal.”

#OthersFocusedFreedom
“But you should know that in this chapter and by way of application that Paul is not saying, he's not telling everybody, you've gotta stop eating meat. That's not what he's saying. And to move to this place to to beat a legalistic drum then or now with the topic in 2026, you pick the topic. Alcohol is kinda what we were just kinda were there. We're not beating that drum. He's saying that the simple reality is is that our our our love for our brothers is more important than exercising my liberty because because my brother matters to Jesus. That's what he's saying. And I'll leave you with this. Three little things on the screen. Knowledge says, I know I'm free. Remember, knowledge puffs up. I know I'm free. Right say, I'm allowed to do this. So legalistic. Beloved ask, what would help you? For me to do this or for me not to do this, it's always others focused.”
