"i mean because i like to just take scripture for scripture blessed is the group of people whose god is the lord and if you read the old testament you can't get away from the fact that blessed is the group of people who fear the lord genesis 20 surely the fear of god is not in this place psalm 36 and i love the actually the nlt the new living translation even though it's not a a a word for word it's a thought for thought they call they call it dynamic equivalence and bible translation sin whispers to the wicked deep within their hearts they have no fear of god at all see the fear of god is the beginning of wisdom and understanding and we're remembering god today we're remembering his word and the fear of god" [00:09:35]

"was america a christian nation because don't answer let me explain first because if if let's just say if god put this nation together you can study the pure green pilgrims and the puritans i read of plymouth plantation by william bradbury we're in bradford um my family lineage we can't really prove it with the mayflower compact society but they say i was my lineage is traced to pirgrim white the first baby born on the mayflower compact uh my great great grandmother said that that methodist circuit riders was part of our family heritage and that and that god was honored and and but see in the midst of that you have evil also working and so we just gravitate off into the evil but they don't tell you that the the christians brought the salem witch trials to an end they don't tell you that christians fought against slavery they don't tell you that christians and the pilgrims and the puritans wanted to love and minister to the native americans and then evil men get in and do evil things take land slavery but now why we can't throw out the baby with the bath water we have to have proper american history to really understand the foundation that god built" [00:10:55]

"a nation can't be a christian it's a nation is a reflection of the character of her people so was god this nation built on god's word on god's principles absolutely you can read the mayflower compact to the glory of god into the advancement of the christian faith you can read the journals you can read the writings you can read what the early framers believe you can read what the founders believed and you can see that the foundation was godly but then from that we would get a lot of evils and i just want you to see this the president of congress henry lawrence said i abhorred slavery i was born in a country where slavery had been established by british kings and parliaments as well as by the laws of the country ages before my existence" [00:12:25]

"newsweek magazine this is going to amaze you 1982 in an article how the bible made america said historians are discovering that the bible the bible perhaps even more than the constitution is our founding document newsweek why don't you print that again you you see an agenda at work here here's why the agenda the 1619 project a black lives matter movement um which a lot of black pastors are coming out against because they don't help black lives there's an agenda there and the agenda is now when you cr now you can say america is corrupt they call it all our institutions are corrupt now you can break everything down and rebuild on a foundation that's not good and godly and they would teach that because of your skin color you're an oppressor and we know that's not true it's a sin problem not a skin problem" [00:15:22]

"did you know that god instituted the church the family and the government it's his institution so you're telling me he doesn't have anything to say about that topic i i have to thoroughly disagree with you because he has a lot to say about that topic the word politics just means leading a group of people and we want to be technical i'm political with the church i'm leading a group of people that's all that means so why are we disengaged from this because it matters because theirs are some big issues now granted i understand getting caught up in it and and not getting too you know people anytime the church tries to correct itself or do something sometimes we can get too far to the right you hear that term far right right and and it's too political to this to this and yeah you've lost balance now you've you know it's not good you're kind of unhealthy now you're mean now you're arrogant now you're screaming at people now it's like if you just pau if you could just pass policies and get the right people in the office but why aren't you having prayer meetings why aren't you fasting calling out to god why you've got off balance" [00:18:26]

"and i've noticed these churches who don't talk about that also aren't bold on the essential truths of the gospel they're not going to see why why for example john macarthur when he fought politically about covet he's also very bold about the gospel truths rob mccoy or jack kibbs or whoever when they're bold about biblical political truths they're also bold about biblical truths but this side that don't doesn't want to get poli political they're very soft even even on biblical issues so what's going on it's it's it's a heart that is not bold it's can i say it cowardliness straight up that's what cowardline is now you don't have to be political john piper's clear that he's not uh other people are clear that you don't you don't have to but there has to be a boldness for the gospel the boldness for the truth the boldness for hard things because the holy spirit wants us to say hard things let me tell you that the boldness of the spirit when we read in the book of acts they were filled with the holy spirit they became very quiet meek and gentle and they didn't do anything they didn't they didn't upset anyone the bible's clear and they were filled with boldness boldness to confront the culture boldness to confront the wicked leaders" [00:20:16]

"it's the word that built our nation it's the word that secured our god-given freedoms it's the word that evangelizes the world and it's the word of god that fights against evil we've got it we've got to remember because god will often say remember remember back remember look how far you've drifted and bring and go to repentance remember what i did for you and be thankful remember how far and begin to re repairs of the breach instead of just giving up and throwing up our hands why does this matter why does i think i even have that screen up there i want to why why does what i'm talking about matter well because we've been given a gift to steward no nation on earth has ever accomplished what we accomplished and it wasn't by our own ingenuity also because the hammer of judgment may fall if we don't wake up also because apathy is not biblical apathy is not biblical now there's different callings and different passions and people but you're going to be shocked at this" [00:23:46]

"if we don't teach our children to follow christ the world will teach them not to hearts without god and homes without discipline produce destruction i didn't talk also about looking at this topic how many mass the mass shootings these these kids don't have fathers fatherless homes father's not involved hearts without god homes without discipline produces destruction the strength of the nation will depend on the stability of the family have you ever thought about that why why is there so much attack on the family they call the the the old family version and we want the new family version why is that because the strength of the nation will depend on the stability of the family think about this a lot of the decay a lot of the moral decline is because of fatherless homes that's where it started getting rid of the fatherly influence getting him too busy jocking for a position redefining our our definition of success and get the father out and then mess up the sexual uh inclinations of children and really go after and just destroy the family the fabric of a moral society" [00:32:14]

"pain primes the pump of revival pain primes the pump of revival now you might know what not know what a priming the pump is but many guys know it's you can't have a pump you can't have a pump with air in it because it will just it could back it could just explode it could heat overheat you've got to you've got to get some water or fluid going in that pump first get the air out the pump has to be primed now it can be used any men remember getting a little a long water hose cut off and and putting in a gas tank get rid of all the air and put it into a gas container spit out a little diesel fuel or gas you're probably i don't recommend that i do i don't care you know i'm just glad i'm still alive today because i i don't know i don't know how many times my dad may be shane we need five gallons of diesel go put your mouth on the water hose and suck it out and then you start process you're spinning out gasoline goes in there and then what i would use for suntan lotion and when i was 19 is hydraulic oil from our heavy equipment it worked great it's like copper tone so man but pain pain prime primes to pump or revival why do i bring this up because don't let your pain go to waste don't let the pain of what's going on right now turn into bitterness and resentfulness let the pain pine prime the prop let me tell you the deepest most heartfelt relationship you'll ever have to go with god is often because of the pain the pain has led me to the savior and now i cling to the cross of christ and now i hold on to christ thank you paint taker fred thank you for getting you through the difficult seasons and and you hold on that relationship to god is sweet because though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i will fear no evil because the good shepherd has taken me through that valley thank god for pain thank god for what he brings us through and he loves those he will discipline you be careful" [00:34:07]

"so one of the things we must do is keep the roots alive keep the roots alive i think i have a screen up there as well and a nation like a tree is easily destroyed when the roots die keep those roots alive deuteronomy 6 take to heart these words that i give you today repeat them to your children talk about them when you're at home or away when you lie down or when you get up write them down and tie them around your wrist and wear them on the headbands as a reminder write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates there's a reminder of god's word and keeping those roots alive the spiritual roots and remembering what god has done and being thankful for that keep those roots alive" [00:32:14]
