Revelation: The Key to True Spiritual Transformation
Devotional
Day 1: Revelation Transforms Understanding
True transformation in the Christian life comes from a revelation of Christ in the heart, not merely from intellectual understanding. Many believers find themselves struggling with sin and lacking victory because they have not sought this personal revelation. Revelation is essential for a deeper relationship with God and true spiritual growth. It moves beyond head knowledge to a heart experience, allowing believers to truly grasp the depth of God's love and the power of His promises. This revelation is a gift from God, and it requires a personal hunger and desire to know Him more intimately. [21:51]
Ephesians 1:17-18 (ESV): "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints."
Reflection: What steps can you take today to cultivate a deeper hunger for a personal revelation of Christ in your life?
Day 2: Reverence and Selflessness
The world, and many believers, lack the fear of God and are often self-centered, seeking their own interests above God's. True spiritual growth involves developing a reverence for God and prioritizing His interests over our own. This shift in focus leads to a life that reflects Christ's character, marked by selflessness and humility. As believers grow in their reverence for God, they begin to see the world through His eyes, valuing what He values and loving what He loves. This transformation is essential for living a life that honors God and impacts others. [11:24]
Philippians 2:3-4 (ESV): "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Reflection: In what ways can you demonstrate a greater reverence for God and selflessness in your interactions with others today?
Day 3: Sensitivity to Sin
As believers grow closer to God, they become more sensitive to sin in their lives. This sensitivity leads to daily repentance and a desire to become more like Christ. True spiritual growth is marked by an increasing awareness of sin and a longing for transformation. This process involves the work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts and guides believers into all truth. By acknowledging and confessing sin, believers can experience the cleansing and renewal that comes from God's grace, leading to a life that reflects His holiness. [07:56]
1 John 1:7-9 (ESV): "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Reflection: What is one area of your life where you need to seek God's forgiveness and experience His cleansing today?
Day 4: The Church's Foundation
The church is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets, with Christ as the cornerstone. This foundation is essential for building a true church that reflects the mystery of Christ and the church. Believers are called to seek revelation to understand and build according to God's plan. The church is not just a building or an organization; it is a living body of believers united in Christ. Understanding this foundation helps believers to appreciate their role in the church and to contribute to its growth and unity. [46:13]
Ephesians 2:19-22 (ESV): "So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord."
Reflection: How can you actively participate in building and strengthening your local church community today?
Day 5: Understanding the Mystery of Godliness and the Church
The mysteries of godliness and the church require revelation to understand. Godliness involves living a holy life, and the church is a diverse body united in Christ. Believers must seek revelation to understand these mysteries and build a church that reflects God's plan. This understanding leads to a life that honors God and fulfills His purposes. The church, as a diverse body, is called to demonstrate unity and love, reflecting the character of Christ to the world. By embracing these mysteries, believers can experience the fullness of life in Christ and contribute to the church's mission. [54:02]
Colossians 1:26-27 (ESV): "The mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
Reflection: What steps can you take to better understand and live out the mystery of godliness in your daily life?
Sermon Summary
In today's message, we explored the profound differences between the Old and New Covenants, emphasizing the importance of revelation over mere understanding. The New Testament introduces commands and promises not found in the Old Testament, highlighting a deeper relationship with God that goes beyond intellectual comprehension. Many believers, despite years of church attendance, struggle with sin and lack victory in their lives because they have not developed a personal hunger for God. This hunger is essential for true transformation and victory over sin.
The world, and sadly many believers, can be described by two New Testament statements: "There is no fear of God before their eyes" and "They all seek after their own interests." These reflect a lack of reverence for God and a self-centered life, which are contrary to the life God calls us to live. True spiritual growth is marked by an increasing sensitivity to sin and a desire to become more like Christ. This involves daily repentance and a longing to be transformed into His likeness.
Revelation is key to understanding and living out the Christian faith. It is not enough to have head knowledge; we must seek a revelation of Christ in our hearts. This revelation leads to a deeper understanding of God as our Father and transforms our lives. The church is built on the foundation of apostles and prophets, with Christ as the cornerstone. This foundation is essential for building a true church that reflects the mystery of Christ and the church.
The mystery of godliness and the mystery of the church are profound truths that require revelation to understand. Godliness involves living a holy life, and the church is a diverse body united in Christ. We must seek revelation to understand these mysteries and build a church that reflects God's plan.

Sermon Clips
God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and if you only hear another brother explain these things to you it may reach your understanding and you may think yeah I got it you haven't got it you've understood it you need more than that for it to change your life. [00:01:00]
The closer we come to God the more we see sin in ourselves and less in other people. The Apostle Paul when he wrote 1 Corinthians it was around maybe 20 years 15-20 years after he was converted and maybe 15 years after he was converted he said I am the least of all the Apostles. [00:05:50]
For me I have come to the conclusion there is only one mark of spiritual growth in my life that I discover since this year that I never knew were sins in all my previous 71 years new areas have you discovered some new sin in your life that you did not know up till last year. [00:08:02]
The fear of the Lord is the ABC of wisdom so the whole world can be described as I said in two sentences there is no fear of the Lord before their eyes and the second statement is in Philippians chapter 2 and verse 21 they all seek after their own interests. [00:11:17]
Revelation in the New Testament the Bible speaks about mysteries Ephesians chapter 3 Paul says not only Christ was revealed in him we saw that in Galatians chapter 1 we need to revelations when his Christ was revealed in him and the other he says in Ephesians 3:9 to bring to light the administration of the mystery. [00:44:02]
The church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets what Jesus Christ will the chief Cornerstone you know in those days when they built a house the first thing they laid was the cornerstone the cornerstone had to be absolutely perfect in three dimensions 90 degrees and they put that in the corner. [00:46:44]
The first great mystery is 1 Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 great is the mystery of godliness the great mystery of how one can live a holy life a scribe can never understand it it's a mystery that God will reveal to those who hunger and thirst for righteousness who are not at all satisfied with being defeated by any sin. [00:48:58]
The second great mystery is in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 32 it says this mystery is great but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church the second great mystery is the church it's it's a mystery I don't expect people to understand it who don't fear god I don't expect people to understand it who don't who's seeking their own. [00:53:52]
God has called us to build the Church of Jesus Christ and it can be only built through Revelation and that can come if we humble ourselves and revere God and say Lord we want to satisfy your heart and build what something according to your plan on this earth and God will help you wherever you are. [00:57:58]
Heavenly Father give us revelation we pray in the areas where for years we've had only intellectual understanding and where the devil has fooled us to think we have understood something when it was only in lecture now life remains unchanged our church is not expressing the mystery of the body of Christ please have mercy upon us. [00:58:49]
The world can be described in two sentences both found in the New Testament that's how I've looked at it, Romans let me just show you those two sentences one is Romans chapter 3 and verse 18 this is a description of the entire world and I'm sorry to say this is the description of all nominal Christians. [00:02:50]
The Apostle Paul said in Galatians in chapter 1 we know that he saw Jesus on the Damascus Road that's how he is converted but that was outwardly with his physical eyes he saw Jesus in glory a vision and he was converted but there's something else that happened in the succeeding days after that.
