By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preach to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you is of first importance, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. [00:01:02]

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless, and so is your faith. More than that, we have found then to be false witnesses about God. [00:02:51]

Friends of Christianity and enemies of Christianity know that everything stands or falls on whether Jesus was raised from the dead. That's the crucial fact. If it didn't happen, we are engaging in the biggest fraud in history and we should be closing this church and every other church. [00:06:36]

The resurrection proves that he is not just a great teacher or a prophet. He's something very much more. Without the resurrection, you could not believe in Jesus. He said things about himself that are just not true if he didn't rise from the dead. If he did, everything he said is true. [00:08:28]

Now, we have both eye witness testimony and we have circumstantial evidence that Jesus rose from the dead. That is why there is one profession where more people have become Christians than any other, and it's the legal profession. Isn't that amazing? They understand evidence. [00:44:42]

The New Testament doesn't say Christ rose from the dead. It says he was raised from the dead. He didn't do it. God did it. It was God who in the darkness of the tomb gave him a brand new life. God did it. It was God who in the darkness of the tomb gave him a new body. [01:01:46]

The new creation has begun and we are his new creation. If any man is in Christ, that is the new creation, says Paul. Only there's been a big difference, a big change between the first and the new creation. The first creation began with a new heaven. [01:07:04]

The consequence of the resurrection for individuals and then for the world in which we live, the consequence for us is that one day we too will be resurrected. God isn't just saving your soul, he wants to save the lot. He wants to redeem our bodies. [01:09:39]

You are going to lose your body, but you're not going to lose yourself. You will go on. Your spirit survives death. Two minutes after you're dead, you will know who you are, where you are, and who you're with. It's very important that no one goes out of existence to be with Christ. [01:10:51]

If you ask me how I know that Jesus is alive, the answer is very simple. I was talking to him only this morning. That's the ultimate proof of the resurrection, when you accept that Jesus is alive and you talk to him. [01:16:38]

I said, tell him about yourself. Tell him what you've been told about him. Tell him what you think of him. Tell him about what you want most from life. Just have a chat with him. And I left her for fifteen minutes and came back and she said, he's alive, he's alive. [01:17:54]

But you talk to him and he talks to you, and you know in here that he's alive. And you know in here that the resurrection is true. God bless you and thank you for listening. [01:19:23]
