“Surgery was scheduled and completed 04/06/2006. I'm grateful for the gift of living twenty years with a working healthy kidney and the ability to enjoy life without the complications of dialysis and various limits to be functional. We now sing both in the base section of the choir. So if you wanna hear more, and there will be a a a presentation as well in the parish hall about the whole process of donating a kidney. Make sure that you go in there. David and or Case will be happy to answer any questions that you have. So congratulations on all of that.”

“Good Shepherd's men's group heard about it soon thereafter. Five physical health criteria were used to select a short list of 12 possible donors with over half of them Good Shepherd Choir members. David McClary was number 12. University Hospital staff started testing the volunteers one at a time. A few candidates went through the testing and were not found as suitable matches. The lead doctor decided that the donor needed to be at least six feet tall, leaving only two acceptable potential choices, both named David. My choir friend David, the last man on the donor list was the match.”
