#StopSpiritualDrift
“``And as we look at the all of these things, here's the big picture concept. This is why it matters. It's because drift always starts with compromising on God's standards. Drift always starts with compromising God's standards. Both issues that Nehemiah addresses here in this text are about compromising on God's clear commands and standards, and they did. And we still do that today. They we compromise on what we know is true that God has given us in his word. And then we wonder why we struggle in our faith and struggle in our lives. It's because we're trying to do it on our own power with our own ideas and our own traditions.”

#ConfessAndRestore
“Again, that and that's through that ongoing covenant relationship with God. Right? Just saying, Lord, I long to be right with you. And show me, again, the lies that I'm believing. Show me the compromises that I'm making against your word so that I can make them right. Right? And, again, we make them right just as it says by throwing them to the feet of Jesus and saying, Lord, forgive it and redeem it and restore me, right, to to 100% relationship with you. Right? And help me to stay there. Again, wherever you're at in your faith journey today, my hope is that you leave here closer to God than when you came. Right? And that if God has revealed something to you, you know, that is that is standing between you and him, talk to him about it, confess it, let the power of Christ redeem it.”

#SabbathIsConnection
“Again, Jesus is telling me, he's like, hey, guys. The Sabbath is not the point. The point is to be connected to god, and that's what Sabbath was for. Right? Again, the Sabbath was to meet the needs of the people, and our biggest need is to be connected to God. Amen. That's still true today, by the way. Right? Our biggest need is to be in relationship with God and stay connected with him. And that was what the Sabbath was supposed to do. And he can notice Jesus tells me he's like, hey. You're focused on the wrong things. Right? You're so focused on the traditions and all the rules and all the stuff that we built up about the Sabbath, and now you've lost the whole point of the Sabbath. Again, because God is God. Right? He is Lord over even the Sabbath.”

#UnplugAndRefocus
“K? Because the reality is we are being discipled by our screens and not by the power of God's word. K. Compare the amount of time each week you spend on things of God, whether that's attending church, being in a small group, reading God's word, prayer, you know, and fellowship with others. Like, balance that with how much time you spend on your phone. You're being molded more by your phone than you are by spiritual disciplines. K? And we need to find the right balance, and that's what the the concept of Sabbath was about was keeping everything in the right balance.”
