64s
“Our sense of community has fallen on hard times, and the pace of how we live. We just don't have time for community. We we we just don't slow down enough because, you see, for community to be effective, it it has to be soaked up. You can't just take a bath by dipping in and then running off again. Community, it's like a hot tub. Gotta spend a little light a little time there. Enough time to to to get the bones warmed up, to begin to relax.”
62s
“Without institution, the church would have no skeleton. Without institution, there would be no system. Without institution, there would be no reliability, no order, only chaos. The whole purpose of the institutional side of the church is to serve the other side of the church, the communal church, the communion of saints, the church as community. But let's face it. Sometimes, the church as institution can be all consuming. It can be exhausting. When we step back and look at it, it can be nonsensical oftentimes.”
41s
“As in the days of Pentecost, god's spirit is still pouring out upon the church. The spirit of god will never stop pouring down upon us and blessing us and making us community together. Just as the sun and the earth will never in our lifetimes stop working together to bring a new day, so God will never in our lifetimes leave the church without refreshing community.”
