48s
“He doesn't do that. He says, come to me all who are weary. So verse 27, he's revealing the father. At verse 28, he comes back and says, he says, if you want to know who the father is, just look to me and then in verse 28, he says, come on. Come to me. All you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest. You see, that's the father. That's what the father desires. He wants you to come. Come home. Return to me. Take rest in me. Come and just enjoy presence.”

“Understand that conviction is not shame. There are two different things. Jesus doesn't Jesus does convict us, but conviction is not shame. It's not the same. Shame says, hide. Conviction says, come home. Shame says, you are hopeless. Conviction says, there is grace for this too. Shame says, you are what you have done. Conviction says, in Christ, you can be made new.”
63s
“Jesus sees that person. He sees not just the person that is broken, the jar that's exploded. He doesn't just see the broken person and what's happened. He also sees those individuals that are boiling on the inside and to both, he says, come to me all that are weary and heavy burden and I will give you rest and that's where this passage starts. It's where it begins for us. Jesus isn't speaking to people that don't have no problems. He's not speaking to those that have everything under control. He's not talking to those that are polished and impressive and and are spiritually content. He's speaking to the weary, to the heavy low laden, to the burdened, to those that are tired from carrying the things that life has placed on their shoulders. Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.”
72s
“Jesus has his arms wide open. He says, come. He doesn't say clean yourself up first. He doesn't say that you need to clean or carry that shame a little bit longer. He doesn't he's not saying just show yourself worthy of my mercy. Prove it to me. He says, come. As I get to that point of closing, this is my first close. Alright. I got two more to go. Three close. Yep. Three close. Come to Jesus. Come with your burdens. Come with your grief. Come with your sin. Come with your regret. Come with the pressure. Come with the part of your life that nobody else sees. The altar is not where the weary are ashamed. It is where the father welcomes them home.”
