#SoundLikeHeaven
“And so, Lord, I pray that as we respond, that we would sound like heaven and the way we rest in you in the midst of the chaos, the way that we return when we've wandered off, the way that we restore those around us with whatever you have put in our hands, and the way we live like redeemed people. No longer slaves to sin, but free that we would shout who our redeemer is. Help us sound like heaven in a noisy, frantic world.”

#BringHeavenToEarth
“So if you... There's a there's a couple of responses here. If you belong to Jesus, if you would call yourself a Christian, if you've confessed Christ as lord, here's one kind of response for us, is to bring the sound of heaven to earth. Be people who rest in a world that's frantic because we trust God. Make room for people to return, maybe return yourself. Restore what you have the ability to restore even for people who couldn't earn it or do anything for you. Use what God has given you to lift people, not leverage them. And then if you have been redeemed, live like a redeemed person.”

#TrustGodAndRest
“There is something deeply heavenly about a person who can work really, really hard and then let it go and say I trust god. I've done what god asked me to do. Tomorrow belongs to him. It looks like putting your phone down when you're talking to somebody face to face. It looks like stopping long enough to enjoy the people that god has put around you. It looks like receiving life instead of constantly trying to make it into something you want.”

#SacredRest
“Sometimes practicing having heaven sounds very spiritual. It sounds like prayer. It sounds like, you know, worship or or whatever. And sometimes it's taking a nap. Sometimes it looks like eating dinner with your family without checking your email. Sometimes it looks like saying no to one more opportunity so you can say yes to what you already have. Sometimes it looks like worshiping on Sunday instead of treating every waking hour is another hour to get ahead.”

#GodProvides
“God was planning ahead not to just cover the sixth year, not to just cover the seventh year, but listen to the brilliance, to cover into the eighth year. Why? Because they're not gonna harvest those crops until mid summer. They need to get into the eighth year. I think there is a message for us in this, under this sabbath year. You need to know this, that even if you stop, god will continue producing. He has already planned ahead.”

#HeavenOnEarth
“And we can't create heaven here. Heaven is a place. But we can practice the ways of heaven, can't we? We, as Christians, by the work of the spirit through us, can, in a sense, bring the sound of heaven on earth. Our lives, if we are followers of Jesus, can be a sound in the midst of the dissonance of the day that sounds like heaven.”

#StrengthToServe
“You... When you have more power than somebody else, god cares what you do with it. When you have more money than somebody else, god cares what you do with it. When you have something someone else needs, god cares what you do with it. This is one of the characteristics of god's kingdom is that the strong use their strength to help the weak rather than exploit them.”

#KingdomStewardship
“This repeated refrain is, hey. God owns all the stuff, and God owns all the people. So don't pretend like you are the ultimate owner of all of this. You know, when I use what God has given me to help restore the lives around me through my finances or my power or my assets or my influence, it sounds heaven because so many do the opposite.”
